Summary
The day before he fought Ganon the first time, he’d visited all the people he’d come to know and all the Champions waiting for release. He had thought it would be the last time he’d ever see them. He’d even made peace with it.
Now, that yesterday is nearing a month ago for Link, and he is so tired.
“I did,” he says. “I went. Fought Ganon.”
“— Did you have to retreat?”
“…Didn’t fight it today. Five days ago. And ten. But also today.”
Link defeats the Calamity. And then he faces it again and again and again and again—

Summary
After all that fuss he expected Scientia to look - unkempt. Wild, maybe, like Fulgarian's hermits, with their shaggy hair and their disarrayed clothes, their twitching fingers. But Scientia, walking unerringly towards him to make his bow, looked as pristinely immaculate as always: clothes sharp, hair carefully arranged, movements fluid and precise. Gaunt, maybe, but they all were now, after the years of rationed food and frozen fields.
Then he saw Scientia’s face, and faltered for just a moment, and knew that Amicitia was right. He had known Scientia at his lowest, had fought him and with him, had witnessed the fire of his desperation. But the man standing in front of him was like an abandoned building waiting for a demolition crew.
(Or: four months after Noctis' return and death, Ravus invites grieving Ignis to work with him in restoring Tenebrae.)

Summary
She took several breaths until she trusted her voice again. "The way things have been is not working for me, and hasn't been for some time. It seems I may have murdered the love of my life for nothing, because the world is not safe even with the Unsundered gone. In fact, it seems killing Elidibus has allowed Fandaniel to rise." It hurt. Oh, how it hurt to say, and now to admit that the quest to free Elidibus' soul would be forced to wait. "So, I will stop him, like I've stopped every threat you've turned me against." She turned about, meeting each of their eyes. "You can help me do it my way, or find a new Warrior of Light."
Returned from Ishgard a newly minted Dark Knight, The Warrior of Light is faced with the fateful consequences of Elidibus' death by her hand, and once again burdened with the fate of the star.

Summary
"He was not wrong: a darkness lurked in her. She’d known it for some time now, even if she did not fully understand it. One she danced outside of, always looking toward but never reaching for it. Like a fire, offering to lick her clean with its flames. But she was the Warrior of Light. It was her duty to deny that darkness, no matter how seductive she found it. No matter how warm and safe and loving it seemed."
Having ended Elidibus' life, the Warrior of Light takes her grief to Ishgard. Unable to help herself, she tries to save a life which in turn changes hers.

A post War-Games AU. Leslie Thompkins almost fakes Stephanie Brown's death, but stays true to her compassionate nature and changes her mind. Thus begins Stephanie's slow journey of healing, of recovery, of confronting her trauma and despair, and of finding out who she is in the ruins of it all. Trying to rebuild her relationships and reconnect with the people she loves.
And as those loved ones face their own struggles--from sudden deaths to mysterious returns-- Stephanie being around changes things quite a bit...
Updated with chapter 18! Excerpt:
“Whoever was behind it, they knew Tim was Robin,” Steph whispered. "There's some monster going after the families of vigilantes, the high profile ones, and Tim’s dad was…”
Her mother hissed. “I was wondering if that was it. That poor child. He must feel so awful..."
“It could have been you, Mom,” Steph croaked, unable to stand it any longer. “If I was still Robin, it would have been you.”
