He can still feel Ferocs arms around him and he leans into that feeling.
Her warm hands.
Softer then he expected.
Her tail wrapped around his.
A motion only...friends share.
Are they friends.
He shakes his head to get rid of that though.
He's the oracle.
He's not there to form friendships.
And still, he aches to be held again.
He wanted to ask Sirius but didn't.
And now they walk in silence.
The necklace around Sirius neck has a pearl for him.
They included him.
And that makes him so happy.
He clickers.
"Oh ! You sound just like Feroc when she's happy"
Sirius eyes are on him and he smiles.
Pearls hands land on his mouth.
Fuck.
"I am sorry, this is impolite of me to do"
He bows down.
Deeper.
Sirius needs to know he means it.
His hairs stand up.
Stupid.
Like a goddamn animal.
"Hey, no it's fine. I think it's sweet, I know how you feel.
I didn't want to show any aviant attributes up until I met everyone and it's been hard accepting that part of myself."
He shakes his head.
Even Sirius could never understand him.
He's no fennik.
Or a person to begin with.
"I am content with knowing that you are able to feel better. However our situation can't be compared. You are a person, Sirius. I am not"
And Sirius stares.
A sad look in his eyes.
Pleading.
Oh Sirius.
In another universe I'd love to be your friend.

There's that look on his face again.
So utterly hopeless.
"Pearl, you don't constantly need to perform. I like you just like this. The way you are when you let yourself be. The way you smiled when Feroc hugged you"
Pearl looks at him, realllly looks at him.
And he steps forward to cover his golden eye.
"There, like every other fennik"
Pearl turns away.
And there's a heavy feeling in his stomach.
"I can't be this. Please understand, I am the oracle"
And they walk in silence again.
