“Hate me,” Carmilla whispers, her fingers still in Laura's hair. “It'll make it easier. Make it so it doesn't hurt.” She half-laughs, ragged, runs her hand down the side of Laura's face whilst Laura sits there, frozen. “Maybe if you do, you can do it enough for both of us.”
