“I have to tell you something.” Shane says immediately as the door opens and Ilya stops in place, one hand on the knob, the other carrying the groceries he picked up before coming to his boyfriend’s house.
“Hello, Shane, I have missed you too.” Is what Ilya replies, a smirk on his face as he analyzes the situation and immediately concludes it can’t be a bad thing. Shane is swaying a little on his feet, both of his hands joined in front of him, like a little kid who’s about to confess something mischievous. His ears are a little pink on the edges. “What have you done?”
“What? Who says I’ve done anything? I haven’t. Here, let me help you.” He rushes forward, collecting the groceries bag and moving towards the kitchen, Ilya following close behind him, amused. “I’ve just missed you, I’ve been waiting for you to arrive so we can catch up.”
“Yes, catch up. On what, exactly?” Ilya moves to where Shane has been methodically removing everything from the bag and placing them on the counter, and puts a gentle hand on top of his. “Let’s go to the living room first to… Catch up. We can put things away later.” Moving his hand to fully grasp Shane’s, he uses it to pull him towards the living room, sitting on the couch and quickly pulling his boyfriend with him.
They stare at each other for a few seconds, until Ilya breaks and lets out a laugh.
“What? What is it?”
“I…” Shane clears his throat and moves, joining his hands on his lap. “I’ve… Hm…” He looks to the side, clearing his throat again, and Ilya waits. “I created a fan account.” Shane blurts out, immediately looking down, feeling the burn on his cheeks. A few seconds pass without another sound, so he peaks up at his boyfriend to find him frowning, face twisted a little to the side in confusion.
“A… Sorry, what? A fan account?” He asks, and Shane simply nods quietly in reply. “On Instagram? For who? Yourself?”
“No, Twitter, actually. And… No.”
“No, what?”
“It’s for you.”
“For me? You made it for me?” Ilya points at himself with both index fingers, confused.
“No. I mean, yes. The account is mine, but it is… Hm… Dedicated. To you. Kind of. I guess.” He laughs nervously. “I mean… Not mine, mine, I put it under a fake name, so it’s not really me. Obviously.”
“Obviously.” Ilya replies dryly, his face blank. “I don’t even know what to ask you.”
“Let me show you, that’s easier.” Shane gets up, going to the bedroom to retrieve his laptop, opening Twitter on his new account.
One hour later…
