Summary
James Potter grew up surrounded by love, becoming the sun of his parents’ lives and learning from an early age to hide his own pain in order to keep those he loved happy. At Hogwarts, it was no different. He was loved by all his friends. He was the one who made them laugh and offered comfort. He loved his friends with all his strength.
But James Potter was a fraud. Deep down, he was a sad boy with anger issues. He knew he didn’t deserve his friends’ love for lying to them, but he also knew they wouldn’t love him if he were no longer the golden boy.Everything changes when the younger twin of his best friend finds him in the middle of one of his anger attacks and, from that day on, teaches James that he deserves to be loved and cared for, that he also has the right to feel.
Their paths diverge after school, and James finds himself destroyed by the knowledge that the man he loves fights alongside the Death Eaters. He never got over Regulus and always held onto hope for the two of them, even if it was minimal.
But everything changes when Remus Lupin returns home and Dumbledore announces that Regulus Black is dead.
