"You know that I've been waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting, for you"

Summary:

600 years was a long time for any human, the problem was that Abolish wasn't a human and 600 years felt like forever, especially since he never had to be apart from Sir like this before.
It was Abolish's annual visit to Oakhurst, everything was always the same (the vampire being a man of order) yet everything felt different... stranger. The main reason Abolish could pin to that was the humans, but there were always humans. Then Abolish saw HIM, Scott Goldsmith, his Sire, his SIR.

Or in which Kai decided that Abolish would make an excellent vampire, wanted the vampires to have an unhealthy obsession with each other, and force Fern to read it.

Chapter Text

600 years, Abolish recounted with a sigh, 600 years since those disgusting humans took away Sir, 600 years since he was coerced into living with their kind, and 600 years since Abolish felt even a tiny ounce of sympathy for a human. Humans said that time would numb the pain, that time heals everything, but Abolish never wanted to Heal he wanted to Hurt he wanted to Remember. Abolish wasn't stupid, he knew the humans only took him in because they thought he was a young fledgling that could be molded that could be 'Saved', not the 300 year old vampire, beloved gem of Scott Goldsmith, that he was. Technically 900 now, Abolish's brain helplessly supplied, reminding Abolish of just how long it had been Like he could ever forget.

As Abolish approached Oakhurst's rubbled walls, he couldn’t help but feel like something was different, that something was wrong but also so pleasantly right. Abolish couldn't place it, everything was how it always was on these trips; Abolish wore the suit he first met Sir in, brought the wither roses that Scott loved, and just like most times there were even humans, yet something was off.

Abolish froze as he saw him, Sir, Abolish's Sir, Abolish's whole entire world, his whole life; Scott Goldsmith, alive, awake.

Abolish couldn't catch himself from running over, luckily Scott was well-versed in Vampire covens as he was the sire of one, and simply wrapped an arm around Abolish's shoulders as the younger pressed himself up against his Sire's side. "Scott,Abolish breathed the name as if it meant everything in the world and it did, "you're here. I... I'm glad." Abolish breathed out, pressing impossibly closer to his sire, vampires were clingy by nature after all.

Scott seemed to pause before he looked down at Abolish, "Abolish? Is that..." Scott let out what seemed to be a choked breath before he turned and pressed Abolish into his chest tightly, "it is you, isn't it? You look..." Scott's voice cut out in a choked sound before he continued, "you look older, taller almost."

Abolish knew better than to think that Scott actually meant that he looked taller, Scott just refused to admit that Abolish no longer had the kindness that the younger kept, that Abolish became jaded. Abolish said nothing though, choosing instead to hold on tighter than should have been possible.

Of course they couldn't stay in their perfect little world for forever before someone broke it, "So, what are you two if you don't mind me asking?" Abolish looked up to see someone with an almost detective-like look to them ask, fidgeting with the ends of their jacket.

"Old friends, though we haven't seen each other in a while," Scott answered easily, it technically wasn't a lie, but not the whole truth. "What makes you ask?"

The person shrugged, shooting both of them a kind smile, "I was just wondering! You don't see guys as close as you two quite often! I'm Drift, by the way, Drift Infinite."

"I'm Scott Goldsmith," Scott matched Drift's smile but Abolish knew the malicious intent behind it.

It took Scott gently nudging Abolish for him to realize that he should probably introduce himself, "Abolish Veylock, nice to meet you, I guess." Abolish couldn't help his monotonous voice, Drift was interrupting his time with Sir.

People were starting to crowd around more and Abolish had to force himself to move to Sir's side instead of pressed up against his chest, of course Scott refused to let Abolish go too far. Abolish leaned closer to Sir and tuned most of everyone out, staying around just enough to introduce himself but not much else, letting Sir do most of the talking.

Abolish snapped back to focus as some short guy reached out to him Avid, Abolish's brain supplied and had to hide back a growl as he swatted the hand away. The human didn't even have the decency to ask or even wear gloves.

"Don't touch me." Abolish scowled harshly, but in his opinion it was deserved, "It is quite frankly rude to touch someone without even asking."

"Oh, uh... s-sorry?" Avid's voice sounded like he didn't feel very sorry "It’s just that... you do know that you're... very close to a vampire, right?" Avid spoke in a hushed voice, gesturing to a Scott.

Oh, great, this human was one of those delusional vampire 'hunters' "No, because I'm not delusional and I know that vampires aren't real. So, unless you have something actually intelligent to say I need to start fixing a place for Scott and me to stay." It felt too hard to pull himself away from Sir, especially since he hadn't seen his sire in 600 years, but it had to be done.

Thankfully Avid didn't interrupt Abolish as he broke off from the small crowd and began heading for the forest, neither did anyone else for that matter even if Abolish felt many pairs of eyes on him, truth be told he really didn't care how many people watched him as they'd either all be dead or turned in due time. Abolish knew that Sir would know when it was time to act.

Notes:
