“Lucifer Morningstar, just the man I was looking for!” Alastor interrupted swiftly, lest he start drooling over the smell of Lucifer wafting out of the doorway.
“What?” Lucifer tilted his head sideways, cute, eyes narrowed in suspicion, “I don’t remember ever telling you where I live, how the hell-”
“Why, I’m hurt you forgot you gave me your address!” Alastor gestured dramatically, hand to his chest in mock offense.
Lucifer smiled apologetically, scratching the back of his head like a cheesy cartoon protagonist, “Did I? Sorry about that, bud. Uh, I’d let you in, but I’m actually about to go pick up Charlie from her after school program. Maybe another time, but I gotta go!” And with that, the door closed, shutting Alastor out before he had a chance to bid his fake farewell.
Well. All in a day’s work, as they say.
Or: Alastor is a vampire and his next meal won't invite him inside no matter what he does.

"Alastor, welcome back."
"I heard you have requested for my presence, my liege." Alastor grinned, closing the door behind him before walking towards the one in the room.
"Yes… I have a mission for you." The voice uttered under his breath, finally turning away from the large windows facing the heavenly city. His long blonde hair was tied into a braid, a glorious halo sitting on his head as three sets of golden and silver wings splayed out behind his back.
"Hm? Must be a special one if you're personally asking for humble ol' me." Alastor chuckled, teasing the older angel. Hearing the other sigh, Alastor laughed softly before speaking in a more serious tone, "Jokes aside, what is this mission about, Sir Michael?"
"I need you to go down to hell.”

Summary
After seven years, Heaven has learned of Lucifer's divorce from Lilith. Knowing of Lucifer's reputation as an 'absent king' and fearing a destabilized Hell, they decide to gift him with a new bride - an angel of their own to distract him and keep an eye on him; a puppet. He is gifted Alastor, Heaven's least favourite angel, to be the sacrificial lamb in the Devil's marriage bed.
Alastor was never sure how he made it past the pearly gates, but he's swallowed down his bitterness to be a gentleman and avoid putting shame on his mother's name in Heaven. Now promised to another against his will, Alastor resolves not to go quietly into marital servitude.

Summary
To Alastor, soulmates and all that came with it were a hassle. He had ignored it while alive and then continued to do so again after being reborn as a demon, but the mark that came with it was ever present on his skin. It was persistent, was what it was, and he had to wonder more than once what kind of soulmate he was so destined to be with that he couldn't escape it, even through death.
Then, he met Lucifer Morningstar, and thought: of course.
