Luffy reaches up and cups Ace’s face in his hand. Ace lets out a choked sound, reaching up and pressing it closer. This isn’t- this isn’t how it was supposed to go. Luffy wasn’t supposed to-
Luffy lets out one last breath. His hand slips from Ace’s face. His head falls back limply, a small smile on his face.
And something in Ace shatters.

A smile spreads across Luffy’s face, and it’s almost unnatural with how wide it is. Ace has seen Luffy smile a million times, but- none have looked like this.
And- against Ace’s wildest hopes-
Luffy’s eyes shoot open.

This crazy woman, Monkey D. Luffy, claims to be from the future and says she is the Pirate King. Buggy believes her—not because she has proof, but because she knows about the birthmark on his left butt cheek that he did not even know existed. Now he is stuck sailing with his self-proclaimed future mother, hoping they avoid every legendary figure, while she actively hunts them down.

Finding out that Law had time traveled had been decidedly underwhelming. He’d looked at the newspaper, noticed the date, thought about Straw Hat-ya’s ridiculous luck and decided: ‘yeah, that fits’ before contemplating drowning himself in his cup of coffee because fuck his life.
All in all, per the status quo when it came to dealing with the Straw Hat Pirates and their Captain.
(At least Straw Hat-ya was there to suffer with him. Or maybe that was worse.)

With dreams of filing paperwork, sipping tea, and staying far away from cannon fire and sea monsters, she enlisted under the radar—just another face in the background. She was clever, meticulous, and completely unambitious, perfect qualifications for a logistics department in some sleepy base.
But things started going wrong fast.
A misplaced transfer form (her own fault), a mix-up in the deployment database (also her fault), and an unfortunately timed display of mild competence during a pirate raid evacuation (absolutely her fault) landed her on the wrong ship at the wrong time—one captained by none other than Vice Admiral Monkey D. Garp.
Recognizing her fast reflexes and sharp mouth, Garp mistook her frantic survival instincts for promise. Before she could protest, Kuroha was named his personal apprentice.
Now stuck training under the most chaotic, battle-happy man in the Marines, Kuroha is just trying to stay alive.
