There's a droning clock chime. Jayce hears it from a distance. A close distance. He turns around and walks to his window.
A grandfather clock. It sits outside in the snow, in front of a tree, like it's always been there.
Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.
It chimes.
Then it ticks again. Jayce can only stare at it. Watching as the pendulum swings inside the clock. The chime surrounds him, droning and dramatic.
