An Exorcism in Hex Hollow; or, On the Third Day Fill the Grave
It’s 2009 in rural North Georgia and Jayce Talis is running from something. He is running into the mountains, the prodigal son fleeing home in exile. There’s something screaming in the woods and something else whispering underneath his father’s house. He’s going home, God help him, he’s going home. And Viktor, his once best friend now a near stranger, works his grandmother’s farm and follows the old folk magic ways, and when he dreams of sinking into the black mud of his own grave, he sometimes wakes on misty mornings with his face pressed, cold and numb, into the tilled soil.
There’s something ancient and alive unearthed in the furrowed fields of Piltover County. There’s a circle drawn in horse’s blood. Foxes surround a lonely gravesite in the mountains. Gunshots echo from the farmhouse in the valley and poppets made from twigs and hair hang in the trees. There’s a devil that stalks the crossroads of Hex Hollow and it’s got a taste for Viktor’s blood – and Jayce might be the only thing that can save him from damnation.

Transcripts of the recordings taken by Jayce Talis, self-proclaimed paranormal investigator and explorer of abandoned places, committed to tape during the two years before his allegedly anomalous disappearance. These tapes have been transcribed in order to preserve all evidence of the case in the event of the VHS tapes being destroyed or damaged beyond repair. At the moment of writing, Jayce Talis’ case remains unsolved and the Council continues to investigate the events surrounding his disappearance.

It was not just Viktor's birth and integration into the commune that had a prophecy centered around the young boy. From Viktor's own mouth was the final revelation.
Those who love the sacrifice shall be loved in return. Peace be to those who are loved.
Viktor's birth was promised. He was the coveted treasure of the commune, a holy child beloved by all. He was the perfect sacrifice.
And he was Jayce's best friend.
Viktor's entire life was defined by his future as a sacrifice for the good of the commune. Jayce loved Viktor as he was, and Viktor loved Jayce. It should have been that simple.

The sound was soft and yet so loud. The door eased open by a breath, as though testing him. Viktor drew in a sharp breath and held it, half-expecting it to snap shut once more. Before he could retreat, an invisible force seized him and wrenched him forward into the awaiting abyss.
A Victorian Gothic Horror. Occultists Viktor and Jayce are summoned to investigate a disturbance in a house of ill repute. They quickly discover that what they've encountered is no mere spirit, but an insidious entity that feeds on guilt and sin... and it now hungers for the tainted secret that Viktor would not dare name aloud.

Jayce's eyes don't avert. They stay on him. He doesn't blink. He doesn't smile. Just stares. Viktor wonders if he's even listening to Heimerdinger.
He feels like he's being choked. The weight of his eyes crush him with the intensity in them. Viktor honestly can't tell what the intensity is. Intense lust? Intense urge to kill? Intense obsession? It could be any of them. All of them.
Viktor exhales sharply as he looks away.
The back of his head tingles. He can still feel it. Feel him.

The one who he had condemned to life in Stillwater with his testimony. With every scar split open, Viktor's world comes apart.

Viktor half-turns to face him, as Jayce stumbles closer. It hurts, looking at that face. So vibrant and full of life, unmarred by the disease brewing within, smirking wickedly at something his roaming eyes have detected. He doesn't comment on it though, simply nods to the steaming coffee ready and waiting on a nearby table, a chair already half-pulled out, before returning to his work.
None of this is real.The Mage told Jayce defeating the Hexcore wouldn't be easy, especially the killing Viktor part. Luckily, one of them is intent on giving Jayce lots of practice.
