Summary
Mel and Langdon bond over some surprising common ground. Their bonding unfolds in unexpected ways. Takes place immediately following events of S2, ep. 14.
Langdon heads to the bay trying his best to hide the grin that’s escaping from his mouth and he leaves the bright and noisy ER behind. He hadn’t felt this happy in a long time or at ease and wasn’t even fully aware that it was all because of her. He was just happy. His first day back in 10 months started out awful and now it felt like he was a whole new person about to chat with someone who actually cared and wanted to listen to what he had to say. He found himself daring to hope that Mel wanted it too.

Summary
"I was friends with his son, remember?" Langdon placed a hand on the back of his neck, hanging it there with a sigh. "His dad, Rob, Robert, liked to do um, private tutoring."
Trinity picked up on the intention behind that phrase in a second, a fiberglass splinter dug into her palm that nothing would get out. All he was doing was pressing on the remnants, not even a dot to show for it but a bruised memory all the same.
She felt like she'd been dried out in the sun, and he was only half looking at her, brows sewn together with sinew thread and nerve endings, voice paper rough. "He, he uh.. fuck, you'd think after enough time it would get easier to say, huh?"
I get what you've gone through to get here.
========
Being stuck in an elevator already sucked, Trinity had decided. Throw in Langdon, his inability to just stay still, and her incessant need to know how other people perceive her, and you end up getting much, much more than you bargained for.
Or; Santos and Langdon get stuck in an elevator, and find out they're much more alike than either of them would've liked in experiences with predatory sports coaches.

Summary
Dana would probably make fun of him, about how Langdon treats him like the Father and Robby joins in like Langdon’s his son, his spitting image. How Robby treats him like the son he could've had and never did. But unfortunately for everyone, himself included, Robby has never thought Langdon as his son, not truly. As a protégé, sure. As his best student, best resident. As the best thing he's ever been able to mold in his image and likeness, like God would do.

Summary
Frank wasn’t his patient. His best-worse resident, best friend even if he’d denied it. A mentee. Closer to a lover than his child even if people called Frank his pyrrhic, prodigal son. Cut from his rib, a doctor shaped in his image, who saw all of Robby’s silent, impossible standards and glowed under the attention even if it meant pushing himself to the summit anyway, hands raw.
“You’re done. Do you hear me? You’re done for real this time.”
OR Frank gets hurt and Robby jumps to all the wrong conclusions.

Summary
Frank Langdon never wanted it to end like this. He didn't want to leave behind a missed call, an empty apartment, and a question that would haunt Robby for a long time. What if I had picked up the phone? Frank's death wasn't a grand gesture or a thoughtful goodbye. It was just another night he was supposed to get through. But he didn't.
Despite all that, Frank left behind a letter. A letter to the person he loved in a bad way, but truly. He's just trying one last time to tell the truth, about their beginning, about his departure, about all those missed calls.
And Robby, who left Frank that night, is now sitting on Frank's kitchen chair with Frank's last words in his hands.
