Summary
He had spent nights making up scenarios of what Karl was like. A tyrant who only wanted to marry Sapnap to gain access to their large army. A dictator who wanted Sapnap’s hand to have control over their money. An oppressor who had nefarious plans and only hatred in his heart.
Instead Karl was sweet, he was pure. He held back on swearing but when he got mad at his novels or his paintings for not turning out how he wanted them too he had a mouth worse than Quackity and Sapnap combined. He was good with children and ventured out often to meet with the townspeople, helping with their orphanages and food drives.
Karl was perfect, and he was perfect for Sapnap.
And wasn’t that just the issue?

Summary
When Quackity opened up his coffee shop he wasn’t expecting it to grow as much as it had. Las Nevadas’ Coffee was a sleep deprived dream, thought up after his fifth cup of coffee one night in his dorm room.
He and his childhood best friend, Schlatt, had been cramming for an exam for the worst professor to ever exist— both running off of roughly three hours of sleep, two red bulls, five cups of coffee, and spite. Quackity had angrily thrown his pen across the room, watching half lucid as it ricocheted off the wall, nearly hitting his friend in the head. Schlatt had barely reacted, looking up at Quackity and spewing some shit about them dropping out of college and opening a coffee shop.
Quackity had laughed at first, the pair creating this fantasy business in their heads. Their target customers were college students and tired workers, much like themselves. People who didn’t want some too expensive coffee like Starbucks or hipster drinks like half of the overpriced cafes nearby. Their ideas were half-assed but full proof to them. Quackity would open the shop each morning as he was the morning bird between the two of them, and Schlatt would close.

Wilbur made a sympathetic hum, and Schlatt leaned back in his seat, somewhat appeased that Quackity was actually talking about why his bedroom looked like the aftermath of a hurricane.
“I— I haven’t really liked anyone like this before. I’m scared because around them I’m not nervous. I feel calm, I feel confident, I feel… I feel good.”

“You’re… here?”
The words felt almost foreign, spilling from Quackity’s lips with uncertainty he had grown accustomed to. He had had dreams along these lines, and the pain of abandonment and loneliness hurt worse when he woke from those. The warmth of them in his arms was a distant memory, the cold of the empty bedroom freezing his bones.
Sapnap shrugged, his face wary, but his eyes were soft, the same look he had reserved for two people: Karl, and himself.
“You needed me.”

It was warm.
It was bright.
Karl couldn’t help but keep his eyes shut, basking in the warmth of the sun’s rays hitting his face, warming his cheeks. He could hear birds chirping from the trees, the occasional buzz of the bumblebees as they flew past.
The soft sound of footsteps broke his spell and he cracked his eyes open, smiling as Quackity grew closer. It took a moment for him to realize Karl was in fact awake, and looking at him with a soft smile gracing his lips.
