Every day the darkness seeps into Shane's brain a little more. Those cliffs in Cindersap Forest are starting to look like the only option. When a new farmer moves in to the overgrown farm next door and takes an interest in doing a bit of population control on the local "wildllife", Shane may have found someone he doesn't hate. They're both fighting monsters, after all, just different kinds.

Ten years the farmer's been in the valley, now. The wilderness farm has always been a strange place, and actions have consequences. On a backdrop of bittersweet reunions and a mysterious population surge in the local "wildlife", the villagers will have to band together if they are to survive what's to come.
or: a look at life, relationships, and the effects of magic, lore, and witchcraft in the valley after the farmer has essentially broken the game. jas and maru are probably the closest we have to protagonists, but it is truly an ensemble.
