Summary
Task Force 141 was well-known for being one of the only military forces in the world that employed mutants. While they were technically off-books, it was the closest mutants had ever come to working with the government, instead of fighting against them. Any successful mutant test weapon that was stable enough to be put in the field was sent over to the 141. There were a few humans on the team, too.
The reality was that the higher-ups didn’t trust the team not to turn into another group of X-Men or Fantastic Four or what-have-yous. So they put a few humans into the mix, ones who could act friendly to mutants, ones who wouldn’t attract too much attention while still remaining assets to the force.
What they didn't expect was for the humans to become close with the mutants. To form a genuine friendship, connection, perhaps love. And they certainly didn't expect the total shit storm that would come with sending the 141 after delusional Omega-class mutant Victor Makarov.or
The extremely self-indulgent X-Men AU for CoD because they go well together and I love them.
