He couldn’t sleep, could think of nothing but the way she’d looked at him beneath that mistletoe, and he climbed the winding stairs to his studio in spite of the burning ache in his leg, took out a piece of parchment and frantically began sketching, trying to get the images out of his head and onto paper.
