"Exactly. As I was saying, Atsushi-kun kindly saved me, so I decided to help him with his ability issues. Can't control it, you see, so it's a matter of time until the government gets to him. Can't leave poor Atsushi to their tender mercies, right?"

"... I'm a father now, Oda."
More silence. Despite feeling like his knees will fail him any second now, he's steady as he takes out his second phone to text Ango. He can't deal with this alone.
"Meet me at Lupin in fifteen."

Or, Dazai adopts two kids, has them go through a training montage and somehow saves the Flags along the way.

He nods along, accepting the drink and raising it as a toast to Chuuya. "No one said you had to take care of him."
Chuuya harrumps, laying his arms over the bar top and burying his head on them, muffling his next words like a sulking toddler.
"No, I'm gonna."
Shamelessly eavesdropping, Albatross laughs.

.Or, the many times Chuuya has saved Dazai, and the one time he repays the favor.

"It's four in the fucking morning, on fucking Christmas Eve, dickhead, why did you send me an S.O.S? Where's the goddamn fire, you-? Wait, where the fuck are your face bandages?"
He lashes out, catching Chuuya's arm and dragging him inside, all nervous energy and spite, kicking the door closed so hard behind them the walls rattle.
"In the kitchen."
"Wh- what? Your bandages?"
He's surrounded by idiots.
He tugs Chuuya more insistently down the hallway. They don't have time for dilly-dallying.
"The fire!"
"Wait, there's an actual fire?!"
OR- Dazai tries his hand at normal people (family) stuff, and fumbles a little. Luckily, Chuuya helps pick up the slack

Mori likes to think of himself as a patient, understanding man. He's rebuilt the Port Mafia up from the steaming pile of shit the former Boss had left him with, and he's done so by knowing when to bare his teeth and when to smile close-lipped. He's made deals and alliances, forgiven enemies and punished betrayers, and it all had led him to where he is; sitting high and mighty on the throne of the biggest crime Empire to ever grace the Japanese shoreline. He's gotten multiple, useful chess pieces in the form of various ability users, earned the respect and wariness of the government and gotten a truly priceless pair of top-notch operatives, one of them being his perfect, genius right hand man-
"We are lost, Mori-san."
"NO WE ARE NOT!"
Or-Dazai and Chuuya get offended because Mori treats them like kids. So, as payback, they decide to act like kids even MORE.

Summary
Dazai sighs, shrugging slightly. Under them, on the training deck, Chuuya body slams one of his instructors, cackling maniacally.
“There’s no time for tea, Hirotsu-san. My dog is so dumb! We need to brainstorm on how to properly train him! He’s so small, a baby, if you will.”
The bruised grunt immediately glows red, and is thrown around the room in circles like he's inside a washing machine.
“A… baby?”
The flying grunt crashes against the observation wall-length window from where they are overseeing the training session. Hirtosu doesn’t say anything, but his silence speaks for itself as he watches the grunt slowly slide down the window, leaving a small trail of drool on the glass.
“A puppy”, Dazai insists, sitting up on the couch, criss-cross-applesauce on the cushion.
Or: Dazai gets it in his head that he has to train his new partner like he's a particularly dumb dog. Chuuya has his own -hidden- agenda. Hirotsu just wants Dazai to take his vitamins.
