Summary
Bruno Bucciarati has always been one to step into the caretaker role. It's a role he doesn't mind in the slightest providing to his team he looks at as a family, even finding joy and slight normalcy in it. He feels it's the least he can do for these kids and it's not a role he would ever exchange.

Unlike his partner, Leone Abbacchio wasn't one to ever see himself in a caretaker role. He would have never thought of himself as the parental type and would have laughed in your face if you told him that years ago.
However, when all is said and done; Leone finds himself caring for a group of teens he realizes rather begrudgingly are just as much of his kids as they are Bruno's.

The Jack-o’-lanterns that line half of the porch steps glow brightly against the early-evening of a mid-October day. They illuminate another pair of footsteps that rush down the steps and light up a shadow of another figure that stands frozen beside them.
Two weeks.
Two long weeks since Mista and Giorno went missing. For what, no one exactly knows; there was no ransom, no letter or phone call, no negotiation, just stark silence from a captor they could never find despite great efforts.

When Trish closes the hatch of the trunk, she pauses in the warm April air, heavy with the scent of flowers. She turns back to the house in thought. Just behind her in a running car sits her luggage in a neat pile and inside her room lays a neat note on her bed. She has everything ready for her leave and for her return.
Even so, she hesitates on the bricks of the driveway. She looks back to the car and almost makes a movement as if she’s going to get in, but she changes her mind. Just as swiftly, she walks back into the house without a spare thought.
She wants someone to come along with her; she decides.

Trish knew that following the one year anniversary of the takedown of the former Don wasn't going to be easily. How could it be? And while it wasn't her original plan, she decides to revisit the places of the mission to bring herself closure.

Summary
Bruno’s manic, Narancia’s clingy, Mista’s distant, Giorno’s still mad at himself, Trish is hollow, and Fugo is practically observing through the looking glass.
It’s the simplest way to explain it. The bare bone of the crux of what’s wrong and they are behaviors that Leone would have thought would go away when he made it known that he would be okay, but they stay all the same.
Sincerely, he wonders what the fuck is wrong with all of them?
It becomes all too apparent that they treat him like a ghost. That the only thing they see in him is a corpse still laying on the beach of Sardinia, never to return home. Trauma is one hell of a thing for them all.

After a mission goes wrong, the team is set to spiral when Abbacchio is badly injured. Despite a good recovery, what happened in Sardinia during a week of hell will always remain prevalent to the team. Even if they try not to show it. Though, in the end, what's that saying? Oh, yeah. Hurt people, hurt people.
