Summary
The moment Luffy saw Zoro he knew he had to have him. There was something about the man that drew him in- even when he was stood yards away watching him from over a fence. Or, Luffy and Zoro's first meeting- with some minor changes- and seeing in real time the way Zoro fell hard and fast.

Summary
If you asked Zoro, he wouldn't be able to answer when it was that he fell in love with Luffy. In fact, it took him awhile to even realize that what he was feeling even was love. He knew he admired the other. And he knew that he was devoted to him. But love? That he just couldn't answer. After all, he hadn't spent much if any time thinking about love, having had ambitions far greater than a wife and kids.
Or, Zoro thinks a little harder about what he feels for Luffy but still doesn't realize its love. Nami spends one day with them and figures it out.

Summary

Summary
Fear wasn't something Zoro was used to, having long since come to terms that if he died, he died. There was no point in worry about something that may or may not happen, especially if it hindered his abilities in the moment. Maybe after the fact Zoro would allow himself to feel how close he had come to dying, but never in the moment. And he had never really been afraid for another person. At least, not until a certain rubbery-limbed captain had crashed into his life.
Or, Zoro worries for Luffy during and after his near death on the execution platform and has an honest talk with Luffy about it.

Summary
It was a quiet evening, the crew having just finished dinner and spread around the deck doing various pre-bed activities. Sanji and Usopp were washing the dishes in the kitchen, Usopp having drawn the short straw for the evening. Nami was going over her logbook and making sure everything was updated correctly. Zoro had been resting against the galley wall, watching as the stars began to appear in the dark sky when Luffy had joined him, the other crawling into his lap.
“Hey Zoro?” the boy had said, his straw hat falling down to rest against his back as he twisted to look his swordsman in the face.
Zoro let out a small grunt to show he was listening, his gaze still on the sky.
“We haven't been on a date yet,” Luffy said. “You said you loved me with the kissing and romance and stuff and going on a date is romantic.”
Or, Luffy and Zoro go on their first date......and then Luffy asks what sex is.

Summary
The Grand Line was everything Zoro expected and more. A dramatic climb into the clouds followed by a stomach curling plummet, exactly what he thought the entrance should be like. The whale was a surprise, but in Zoro's opinion, it was a great introduction to the wild seas, a statement that said nothing was ever what was expected.
Or, following their fight on Whiskey Peak Luffy and Zoro actually have a talk about what happened and why it hurt Zoro that is captain/lover didn't listen to him.

Summary
Ever since he was young, Roronoa Zoro knew he was not a tactile person. It wasn’t that he hates being touched, he just didn’t actively seek it out. And in his life in the dojo, touch was often associated with pain- the pain of a bamboo stick thwacking against his body, a dull point dug into his skin, a body slamming him into the ground. He was young when his parents died, too young to really remember the hugs his mother gave or the pats on the head his father shared. No, touch was never associated with much else for him.
Or, Zoro is touch starved, Luffy likes to touch, and they have sex.

The night was quiet, save for the sound of waves lapping against the Merry. Or, after leaving Little Garden and patching Zoro up, Luffy and him have a talk.

Summary
Luffy wasn’t one to linger in bed upon waking up. The bright sun rays that lit up whatever room he slept in telling him that it was a new day and new days always brought a sense of adventure, of wondering what could happen next. Even when the morning sun was covered by clouds or rain, Luffy was still always quick to bounce from his bed, eager despite the weather.
Or, a lazy morning in bed turns into smut.

Summary
It had been a bit since his younger brother's wanted poster had come out, Luffy's grinning face filling up the picture. Ace had pleaded with his father and captain to allow him to head out to the beginning of the Grand Line to meet him, eager to see his brother after several years apart. The old man had laughed and agreed, even telling Marco he could go with him. There had been things to take care of and preparations to be made, but eventually they had been able to set out, picking Rea up on the way.
Or, Ace sets out to meet Luffy at Drum Kingdom with Marco and Rea in tow. And, because this is Ace and Luffy, things don't go exactly as they planned.....

In his defense, things typically did work out, but it didn't mean Zoro liked it.
Or, Alabasta Arc Zoro and Luffy with a focus on after the battle and after Luffy wakes up. Featuring some minor Nami and Vivi.

Summary
Luffy was bored. It was a feeling he was well accustomed to, long stretches of boring ocean interspersing exciting adventures. Not to mention the years he spent on Dawn Island alone when Ace left, having to entertain himself in his brother's absence.
But in those instances, there was at least always something to do. Whether it be sprinting through familiar yet wild jungles or roping his crew members into some kind of game, there was always something to alleviate the boredom. But this, being stuck in one place and unable to leave, this was a new level of boredom that Luffy was not enjoying.
Or, Luffy is bored of being stuck in the Alabastan palace and decides to make it Zoro's problem.

Summary
Zoro felt like he was being watched. Everywhere he went on the Merry, it felt like there was a pair of eyes on him, tracking his every move. The feeling persisted as he trained on the deck or kept watch up in the crow's nest, intensifying when the crew gathered for meals in the galley.
There was no doubt in Zoro's mind who was behind this feeling, the way his skin prickled and the hairs on his neck rose. A polite smile that knew too much, blue eyes that seemed to see it all. It was all because of one Nico Robin, Luffy's latest addition to the crew.
Or, Zoro doesn't trust Robin and Luffy notices.

The second rubber hands appeared on the edge of the crow’s nest Zoro knew exactly what Luffy wanted. While his captain often joined him on his night watches, curled up against his side and fast asleep, there was something different about the way hands gripped the edge. There was a tightness to them, a firm grasp that made the wood creak. Luffy was there for one reason and Zoro didn’t need to even guess what it was.

Summary
Zoro had long ago sworn to follow his captain no matter what odd or dangerous situations he got them into. There were times when he questioned exactly why he had sworn this, but for the most part he just accepted that this was his life now, held in the hands of his captain's whims. And sure at times it landed them in danger but those situations provided a good chance for Zoro to test his skills out against stronger opponents, to see where he still needed to improve. So as long as he got to cut something, any situation was worth it.
Or, Zoro's perspective from Jaya through Skypiea regarding Luffy and his often odd decisions while also deciding that maybe, just maybe, Robin isn't so bad after all and deserves to be part of their crew.

Summary
Warm hands smoothed across every inch of Zoro they could reach as they stumbled away from the dying light of the fire and deeper into the woods around them. Fingertips digging into scarred flesh, whispering over taut skin. Luffy could never get enough of his swordsman but when they were like this, when the mood was nothing but desire, he really couldn’t get enough.
Or, Luffy wants Zoro and Zoro wants Luffy.

Summary
“I wanna go on a date, Zoro. We haven’t been on one since before the Grand Line!” Luffy said much too loudly next to Zoro’s ear, hands tugging at his hair in emphasis. “It’s been too long!”
Giving up on the pretense of sleeping, Zoro opened an eye, looking down at the wiggly captain in his lap. “You’re the one that keeps dragging us from adventure to adventure, Luf. We haven’t had any peace or quiet since then!”
Or, Luffy and Zoro go on a date, kind of, on their ship. The crew tries to “help”.

Summary
Luffy blinked. Who the hell was Marco? He didn't know a Marco.
“Ace's boyfriend,” Nami supplied from the table, fingers pinching the bridge of her nose when Luffy glanced back at her. He didn't seem to think that phrase warranted such an action but maybe Robin had said something to her. Or Usopp. She made that face a lot around Usopp. And himself but he didn't say anything so it couldn't be because of him-
“You gonna answer it or just let it ring?” Sanji interrupted Luffy's thoughts, shoving the trilling snail at him. “Cause I don't want to listen to this while we're trying to have a nice breakfast.”
“What's his name again? Ace's boyfriend.”
Luffy felt that the second smack he received to the back of his head was as unwarranted as the first. “It's Marco you idiot.”
Or, Marco and Ace try to announce their engagement to Luffy but he's an idiot. This leads to confusion, humor, and Robin having to explain basic sex ed.

They looked out for each other and worked well together. They were good.

Summary
The only person Zoro held out on for a long time had been Robin, the older woman a mystery wrapped in an enigma. Perhaps it was because she had been their enemy upon their first meeting or perhaps it was the subtle refusal to fully be one with the crew, there was something there that made Zoro keep her at arm’s length for a long time. Sure that length had shortened the longer they spent together- and no matter how he privately felt she was part of their crew now and he would treat her as such- but there was always something there that held him back, something that kept him from fully trusting her.
Or, Zoro trusts the crew Luffy put together but sometimes Luffy needs to be reminded that no matter what, he’s their captain.
