Summary
“Are you two, um, dating?” Javadi’s eyes were wide, glancing between Trinity and Whitaker.
“What?” She stared at Javadi, trying to figure out if maybe the other woman had finally grown a backbone and decided to start fucking with Trinity.
“Well, the two of you always come in together and you leave together and you bicker all the time…” Javadi trailed off, glancing between them.
Unable to stop herself, Trinity began laughing. Cackling, really. A loud, snorting laugh that she hadn’t heard from herself in ages.
“It’s not that funny,” Whitaker said with a long-suffering look on his sad little face.
“I’m a lesbian, crash. That’s why it’s funny. He’s my roommate. My very platonic roommate.”
“You haven’t noticed her whole thing with Doctor Garcia?” Whitaker said, clear retribution for Trinity’s laughing spell. “Everyone’s been talking about it.”

Summary
If Dennis had to start dying in front of anyone, Trinity Santos would be one of his top choices because he knew she would do practically anything to keep him alive. Sure, a lot of those things were probably crazy and would earn her a lecture from Robby or Abbot or whoever was the attending when they inevitably arrived at the Pitt, but at least Dennis would live to tell the tale.
Dennis pictured his airway closing and Trinity performing a crike on him on the floor of their apartment with the sharp little paring knife she used for slicing fruit. It’s exactly the kind of insane thing she’d manage to pull off.
Since it was after seven, Abbot would probably be in charge of the ER and when they arrived he’d probably say something like, “Doctor Santos, you know that interns aren’t supposed to perform unassisted crikes. But that was super cool.” Or he’d probably never say super cool but Dennis was too out of it to conjure a good Abbott impression and that seemed close enough to the lecture Trinity’d received after the REBOA incident.

Summary
If someone had told Victoria during her first shift at the Pitt that Trinity Santos would end up planning her twenty-first birthday party, she never would’ve believed it. And yet here she was, sitting on a stool in Trinity’s bathroom while the woman in question was carefully running a straightening iron, provided by Samira, through Victoria’s hair. A soundtrack of upbeat pop music that Victoria didn’t recognize played in the background.
Victoria had always watched movies and tv shows with makeover montages and had always wondered what it might be like to have friends like that. It hadn’t exactly been easy for her to make friends growing up, not with the academic fast-track she’d been placed on. She’d never been surrounded by peers, had always been in classes where everyone else was at least five years older than her. Which was still the case, Samira and Trinity were both in their late twenties, but while they occasionally teased her for being so young, they had also embraced her in a way that no one else had. Maybe this was more like what having older sisters would’ve been like.

Summary
Contrary to popular belief, Yolanda was fully capable of being humbled. She’d felt it when she’d realized that whatever the fuck Langdon had been up to with drugs had been serious, not just some overblown gossip from a brand new intern. A week ago, when Yolanda had heard through the grapevine about his sudden sabbatical, she’d known. There was no way the man would have voluntarily stepped away from work and there was also no way Robby would sideline his favorite resident without a very good reason.
Yolanda had apologized a couple days ago in the best way she knew how: she’d let Santos take over the chest tube insertion for the next patient who needed one. They’d also talked it out, but Yolanda had always been one to weigh actions as more meaningful than words. She’d also started testing the waters, flirting lightly, nothing nearly as heavy-handed as that first day, because after everything she’d wanted to give Trinity the chance to come to her.
But she’d never been the type to sit around waiting for things to happen to her. So, despite her resolution to leave the ball in Trinity’s court, she found herself waiting by the ED lockers for Trinity to wrap up her shift.

Summary
When Samira walked into the bar and spotted Trinity and Yolanda standing in a corner with Emery fucking Walsh, she stopped in her tracks.
Samira would never say she regretted her decision to befriend Trinity. But god did the woman love to meddle.
It wasn’t like her crush on Emery was a secret. She’d mentioned it in front of the group a while back when everyone was discussing work crushes. But that was before Emery started showing up all the time. Before Samira had confided in Trinity that she thought there was maybe a vibe there, but she wasn’t sure if she was reading into things.
“I don’t think I’ve ever been part of such a blatant set-up attempt,” Emery’s smile turned wry and Samira felt embarrassment well inside of her chest.
“I’m sorry,” Samira said. “I—”
“Samira,” Emery interrupted her and Samira froze at the use of her first name. “I didn’t say I’m upset about it.”
“Oh,” Samira said, trying to wrap her brain around that piece of information.
Samira finally starts socializing outside of work.

Summary
“So…” Trinity hated silence. She’d never been the type to just let things be, always needing to fill the space. And it was no different sitting in her car with Whitaker in the passenger seat as she just started processing the fact that she'd actually invited this random guy she’d known for less than a day to live in her apartment. “Hell of a first day, huh?”
Trinity Santos voice: "Day one with my fearful, shut-down foster MS4."

Summary
Looking down at the damp concrete, Dana stifled a sigh. Well, there were definitely worse things to get on her scrubs than rainwater she thought as she sat down next to Santos.
“What’s going on, kid?”
Santos looked away, eyes dropping to her hands as she picked at the skin at the edge of her thumbnail. “Bad case,” she said tonelessly.
“Wanna talk about it?” Dana took a drag of her cigarette, turning her head to breathe the smoke away from Santos.

“This is such huckleberry luck,” Trinity said, slouching back in a chair to stare morosely out the window at where the now-empty plane still sat.
“It’s not Dennis’s fault that some guy with high blood pressure decided to spend his weekend drinking and going to all-you-can-eat buffets,” Victoria said.
“Thank you,” Dennis glared at Trinity.
“It was a trip to celebrate him and now we’re stuck in fucking Nebraska until a new pilot gets here. Coincidence?” Trinity stared at them both, raising her eyebrows for dramatic effect.
“Well… it’s not Dennis’s fault he has bad luck,” Victoria said with a shrug.

Summary
One of Trinity’s old therapists had spent an entire session explaining the concept of self-sabotage. It hadn’t been a fruitful conversation at the time, considering how she’d still been reeling with grief, unable to see anything in her life that was even worth sabotaging in the first place. But it was something that came back to her more often than she’d like to admit.
The concept had burrowed into her thoughts recently, nagging at her like an itch she couldn’t scratch. Because it was one thing to know on an intellectual level that she was handling herself poorly, but it was another to be able to stop herself. She’d never managed to figure that part out.
It had started a couple weeks ago, after a passing comment she’d overheard while she’d been charting at the hub, a rumor that Langdon would be coming back. A rumor which turned out to very much not be a rumor after all that had sent her into a mild tailspin that she’d tried very hard to ignore. She was restless, jumpy like he was some horror movie villain lurking in the background, waiting to reappear instead of just some guy she’d had a handful of bad interactions with at work.

Summary
To Yolanda’s horror, the cabin they pulled up to as her phone announced that they’d arrived at their destination looked more like something out of a horror movie than the quaint photos online.
“Um, did you bring me here to murder me?” Trinity asked from the passenger seat. She was joking, but there was an actual thread of hesitancy there. Yolanda knew it wasn’t directed at her, but rather the situation in general.
When a carefully planned getaway doesn't work out quite as expected, it somehow turns out even better than Yolanda could've imagined.

Summary
“There you are,” Trinity said as soon as Dennis was close. She reached out and threaded an arm around his waist, throwing him a look that was clearly begging him to play along. It only took him a moment to get with the program and wrap his own arm around her waist.
“Sorry I was gone so long, it’s busy in here tonight,” he said, glancing at the guy who’d been bothering her.
Her free hand came to rest on his chest and he tried not to stiffen under how strange the touch felt. “Brad over here was starting to believe you didn’t exist,” Trinity said, voice tight as she glared at the guy, Brad apparently, who threw his hands up and took a half-step back.
After an unsettling encounter at the bar, Trinity tells Dennis about her past.
