Summary
2012 was unarguably the worst year for Jack Abbot. He spent New Year’s Eve with his wife, both legs, and a best friend, but woke up on Christmas with a widower tag on his back, a prosthetic leg, and a live-in ED attending.
2012 was also a horrible year for Michael Robinavitch. He had two excruciating phone calls with the Red Cross and almost lost Jack in between.
At least they got to spend a couple more New Year’s Eves together.

Summary
Robby’s brilliant and beautiful brain had always been a wonder for Jack to pick apart. Over the years, Jack had figured out how to react to various mental shutdowns and considered himself an expert in it.
However, physical trauma turned out to be uncharted territory. Apparently, when Robby got bonked on the head, his brain simply decided to go Husband? What husband?
Jack found it distressingly comical. Until he learned why.
