Chapter ten delves into the cult of Abaddon, their mission to unleash hell on Earth. As his kin repeatedly perish, he wields an artifact discovered with Esther to reset time, desperately attempting a rescue. But what if the prophecy was misinterpreted? What if Abaddon requires the Cobra Queen to fulfill it? The question arises: who is worthy to wed him and rule over this infernal chaos? This is where Esther enters the equation.

“… What do you guys… do?” Nathan mumbled, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly, though a bit touched by the amiable term. Feeling his hair touch his knuckles, he made a mental note to cut it when he got the chance.
“We search. Our group has been searching for generations upon generations, and now, we’re closer than ever. We are the key, you see…” he stepped forward, fingertips delicately resting against the photograph, “and He is the lock.”
OR
Nathan, a fresh college dropout who is borderline homeless, joins a cult and discovers a new way of life.

Abaddon smiled—a slow, indulgent curl of the mouth. So this is how they worship. It would do, for now. Until he could teach them what a throne really was, and teach them gratitude worthy of his name—kneeling, trembling, whispering thanks for the privilege of simply existing beneath his gaze.
He brushed past Todd with lazy authority, acknowledging him with the barest nod before lowering himself onto the couch. It yielded beneath his weight, soft and comfortable—an earthly luxury meant for those who are simply better. Something resembling a throne would've suited him better. Still, he stretched along it with a hum of idle contentment. Yes. This will do.
