I’m forgetting everything” He hiccuped and then went on. “It’s like something’s broken, and it’s never going to be fixed again.” Quietly, he started sobbing again, dragging his hand across his eyes.

The car picked up speed as it came down the road. Gradually at first, nothing suspicious. Until it was. Foot down, engine roar, tyres screeching for purchase as the bonnet rose and lurched forward.
