Back when I was a kid, I used to watch those well-edited non/disney crossover AMV's set to edgy songs. Now that I've grown up, I don't watch these anymore but I saw one a few weeks ago where I genuinely got so invested in the plot, that I really wanted to expand it into a fully-fledged story. It wasn't just because I liked the story, but it was also because the AMV's themselves felt somewhat disconnected despite being canon to each other, and I wanted to have them flow better. Not judging the AMV of course, it's like 10 years old and is obviously well-made, but yeah. Also I even found a TV Tropes page for the series, so clearly some people like it enough to warrant a fanfic about it lmao.

Summary
Mal was never human, why is she held to the human standard? She’s of fae, they don’t take slights lightly. And of gods who live forever and kill and curse any who harm their pride. Mal wasn’t born for humanity.
Jay is born free despite the isle. Growing up he heard tales of genies, and how he was supposed to be a prince. A klepto who has mastered the art of thievery, he has little use for wishes, if he wants it he gets it.
Evie is the fairest of them all. Obsessed with her mothers witchcraft she learns how to recreate potions with chemistry while trapped on the isle. She is a designer who creates wickedly enchanting clothes. The fairest never meant harmless after all.
Carlos, an evil scientist of the highest caliber, creating tech that can outshine magic, eventually finds himself pursuing a hobby of trapping and skinning animals for his mother’s fur collection. His skills have him stand out in the group, and his role happens to also include odd favors Mal asks of him.
The isle is a lot darker. The four are morally dark, they do what they want, and retaliate how they want. They know the pitfalls their parents had, and supersede them in wickedness. The Rotten Four will ensure that Evil Lives. -
