Summary
Nico thought he was doing the right thing when he ended things with Will. He told himself their futures were too different, that they were growing apart—that love, no matter how deep, wasn’t enough. So he let go. He walked away. And for a while, he pretended it didn’t break him. They drift apart like strangers, until one day the reality hits Nico hard and he realizes the one person he can’t live without… is the one he pushed away.
And he realizes he made a terrible mistake. He doesn’t just miss Will—he can't breathe without him. But when he finally reaches for him again, Will is… changed. It’s like the boy Nico loved has been buried beneath armor he no longer knows how to take off.

After four years of dating, Nico Di Angelo is forced to spend three days in the infirmary again. This brings back flashbacks for Apollo's son of the connection they had during the three days he spent in the infirmary after the Gaia War, but not before Will had to go pick him up and practically drag him there, because Nico Di Angelo is a workaholic and can't rest if he knows there's a ghost who isn't at peace.
How Will was impressed, and subtly jealous — even though he doesn't know it yet — when Reyna, Jason, and even the coach were able to talk to Nico with ease and he received a wall of ice in response. How even Kayla and Austin seemed to get closer to Nico more easily, and he seemed stuck in the same place.
A glimpse of how two dense idiots fell in love, and how Drew Tanaka bet all his cards — and taunts to Will — that Solangelo (the cabin eleven nickname for the couple) would be the couple of the year at Camp Half-Blood.

Nico had survived a lot, in fact he could even say he had lived more life than most kids his age. He had been to tartarus and survived. If someone took a look at his life from the outside, they might say that a few summer themed games were nothing to balk at. They would be horrible wrong.
Chiron knew that each camper was dealing with the tragedy they had faced in different, and often unhealthy, ways. He had lost so many children who he considered his own so he felt he owed those who were left a chance to move forward and heal. That was how in the middle of June the idea of The Summer Games became a reality during a counselor meeting. It really was a simple idea that did not take much thought to come to fruition. Each of the cabins would be put into pairs and have to work together to win a series of challenges over the course of the summer.
