Her voice was warm and her smile almost motherly. It made Merlin ache for the comfort of his home. He looked at her uncertainly. Merlin may have had a sheltered upbringing in his small farming village, but he could imagine what kind of work she had to offer him, and he wasn’t sure he wanted it. Still, he stood up, shaking slightly from hunger and exhaustion. There was something in this woman’s eyes that compelled Merlin to trust her.

Gwen misunderstands one of Merlin’s comments about Arthur and assumes they are together, somehow this results in Arthur tripping on mushrooms and confiding in Merlin that he’s kissed a boy previously. Written around the events of season 1 (starting from the poisoned chalice ep) except I might’ve misremembered a few details, and I omitted the episode where Gwen’s dad dies bc that felt like that only served to set up the evil Morgana plot.
This isn’t smutty at all, it’s actually kind of cheesy but both talk candidly (and jokingly) about jerking off so using this rating to be safe.
