Summary
Odd reports from Luthorcorp’s employees stationed at the beach contained sightings of a so-called Mermaid of Metropolis. Lex Luthor was annoyed by those rumors, but was obsessed with them all the same. He ordered all employees to cease reporting any mermaid sightings, while also secretly investigating the beach himself, wanting to end those rumors once and for all.
It may have also been the start of something.

Hazily, Bruce watched the last bubbles of air leave his lungs and drift up. His lungs burned from lack of oxygen, but he knew he wouldn't be able to swim up to the surface before he passed out. This was it. Bruce felt his eyes close and darkness encroaching.
Something warm touched his face. There was a brief brush of lips against his and suddenly he could breathe again.
Bruce opened his eyes. There was an ethereally beautiful face filling his vision. Long, dark hair haloed his face, and the person's eyes glowed a deep, striking blue. Odd, shimmering spots decorated his face and - was that a tail Bruce saw?
