Summary
Lucanis Dellamorte needs time to think after returning to the Lighthouse and discovering the hard way that Rook - Viago's adoptive sister, Kione de Riva - and Neve Gallus are now in a relationship, and a fairly steamy one at that. He needs space, and he needs to be *alone*. At least as alone as you can be when you have a spite demon in your head.
He decides to travel to Minrathous - what is it about the place that had lured away a de Riva? The coffee certainly isn't great, but instead he finds company. The *other* person most directly affected by Rook and Kione's relationship, Neve's 'friend' Rana Savas. Perhaps the thing that makes a cafe excellent isn't always the coffee, sometimes maybe it's the company.
One chapter guaranteed, MAY write more (possibly the smut) if I'm feeling it and/or if there's interest. Inspired by and expanded from a sample posted to a Dragon Age Reddit writing challenge and because I love me a rarepair.

Just stay, she thought, unprompted, and it prickled her flesh with goosebumps.
He stopped a few stairs lower than she sat, as if she had said that traitorous thought aloud, but she knew she hadn’t with how tightly her lips were pressed together again.
Looking up, surprised, she watched him turn and lean a hip against the railing against the circular wall, leaving them at roughly eye level. He folded his arms tightly around his chest as he so often did.
She was oddly glad he’d given her that space. And even more relieved he hadn’t left.In the aftermath of the decision to save Treviso over her home, Rook has difficulty facing the team, especially Lucanis. When he stumbles across her having a physical reaction to the day, they talk, and his unexpected kindness makes her cross a line.
