He clears his throat and smiles, stopping short of asking her to call him by his first name. He will…eventually. But that's probably a little desperate, a little forward for now. She isn't JJ no matter how much she reminds him of her. "Yes, everything is fine."
"Okay. Because…usually when people cry it means that everything isn't okay…"
He supposes he had that one coming. She isn't wrong - about the tears, about the way he feels. He contemplates his options for a moment and thinks he might as well throw caution to the wind - the old Aaron Hotchner would say everything was still fine, dismiss her with a curt smile and be done with it. This one? Well he thinks he might as well try and be honest. At least a little.

"Everything is fine. It's just hard being so far from my family all week."
