“Sixty seconds, Prentiss,” Hotch says with a bite to his voice in nothing but fear. “Where are you?”
“You take a lady to the back of your warehouse,” she hints, “Threaten her, and expect a sale?”
“Not in the slightest.” Leo lets up pressure on both the weapon and her jaw, but not before they’re replaced with his hands on her wrists, pressing them into her sides. In one swift move she’s being flipped around and pushed against the crate. “I expect seven minutes in heaven, and then your blood splattered against the back wall.”
Emily shutting down her fears for a case, and Hotch picking up the pieces.

Ben’s gaze lingers on Prentiss like some sort of twisted staring contest, but the gun never fully leaves Reid. His eyes flick between the two agents, weighing the risk of sacrifice against cold suspicion, innocence against guilt. Then, with a sudden jerk of his chin, he gestures towards the stairs, the same one Reid had watched girls disappear down with heads hung low. “He stays,” Ben states, voice lower than usual but certain.
Reid’s stomach drops. “What?” he finds himself asking aloud.
“The innocent must not suffer further with the guilty. God commands me to shield you, and so I must place you where no sin can touch you. You will be safe as long as you remain where I put you.” Ben explains, as simply and casually as if he were discussing the weather. “The innocent must be shielded from corruption. God commands me to protect the pure.”

God, she wouldn't even be in this mess, waking up from a drug-induced stupor if it hadn't been for her fucking boss. She couldn't do it anymore. Couldn't look him in the eyes and follow orders. If she got out of this place alive - out of the BAU alive - then she'd give him a piece of her mind. Finally tell him how much of a headache he was. Finally tell him how much she despised the way he pitied her with that stupid little frown on his face. She would not let him get out of it easy, no. She was going to force him to listen. Grab his annoying face, tell him just how she feels, and make sure he hears her.
Set after Season 7. Before she leaves the BAU. It follows the same general timeline as the show, but liberties were taken with the timing and details.

He feels his eyes widen so much it almost hurts. He wants to understand why a shirtless Derek Morgan is apparently expecting to find him, Spencer Reid, in his bed. Weird, nerdy and slender Spencer Reid, in his bed. This doesn't make the tiniest bit of sense.
Spencer hates when things don't make sense.

Four years in which clearly a lot happened, and his team tries to brief him in everything that's relevant, but in his core Spencer knows that they're leaving something very important out of their explanations.
