My long-delayed fix-fic for Game of Thrones Season 8.
Inspired by the many Braime fics on this site and elsewhere of which I have grown so fond.(Taking place after The Long Night and the first few scenes of The Last of the Starks)
King's Landing teeters on a knife's edge as it waits for the arrival of the Dragon Queen who continues her conquest across the Seven Kingdoms.
Queen Cersei Lannister's paranoia grows ever more constant and predatory and her brother Jaime, now more her captive than her lover, must always be there to bear the brunt of it.
And he knows he has no-one else to blame. He made his choice.
He must be there when Cersei's baby is born.
And then, Seven willing, he will return to the woman he truly loves.Yet, unknown to him, that same woman is every bit a prisoner, down in the fourth level of the Red Keep, with a child of her own inside her.

And Brienne finally gets treated right by the same man who loved her through thick and thin (Brienne finally gets the ending she deserved, this is also an au where house stark’s downfall doesn’t come and Ned isn’t beheaded and they’re pretty much the same noble family like they were in season 1 of the show)

Daenerys is the Mad Queen, ruling with fire, Tyrion is stretched thin and Jon Snow is one loose comment away from being burnt by Drogon.
Westeros is at a tipping point waiting for Fire to reign and the capture of Jon and Jaime in quick successions ensure it does. At the end will the true heir of Rhaegar Targaryen rule?
