Summary
Bonding with the Toruk had…side effects, Norm had told him once Spider came to ask, especially for Jake, who was in an Avatar body and lacked the experience in tsaheylu other Na’vi had. His mind was- well, not exactly weaker, but it was different. More open to influences once a bond was made. Influences that changed Jake, made him act different sometimes.
OR
After connecting to Toruk in the first movie, Jake ended up with some of his characteristics. Mainly manifesting in bursts of "moods" in which Jake reverts to more primal, animalistic instincts causing him to mostly want to stay home and cuddle his family.
Spider learns the hard way that he, too, is a Sully.

A rewrite of Fire and Ash to include Neteyam and see what would change if he had survived. Focusing on his struggles with PTSD, his strained relationship with Lo'ak, and his need to fight for his family.

Rewriting this from memory after seeing the movie twice in cinemas, however, I have definitely forgotten things and likely will have to edit/rewrite in the future.

Lo’ak already lost his brother. It should be enough of a consequence to lose his brother due to his own recklessness, yet somehow Lo’ak keeps losing more. Each loss cuts deeper than the last and life won’t stop long enough for him to stitch up the wounds.
A look at death, grief, and the inevitability of the world to keep turning. (i.e the ikrans dying with no mention ruined me and I have thoughts and question about what happened to Neteyam's Iran and had to channel my feelings somehow)

This story picks up after the ending of The Way of Water, with the huge canon divergence that Neteyam does not succumb to his injuries and instead survives. But at what cost? He now needs to redefine how he sees himself after his injury leaves him unable to continue on his warrior son path.
Meanwhile, as the war to protect Pandora is only getting started, Jake and his family must once again answer the call to action. Only this time with the bull's eye painted directly on their backs, and with the Sky People gearing up for an attack on a much larger scale, they need to recruit more allies than they've ever thought possible.

The pattern repeats every morning. Lo'ak leaves the marui to be with Payakan and a piece of Neytiri's heart follows him. And when Tuk hops off on the marui path to go find her friends it happens again. Kiri too takes a part of it as she goes out to swim on the reef. Jake snags what remains as he steps out.
And all that Neytiri can do is watch them go, and train her bow arm. And to her fury Spider is ever present in the corner of her eye - learning the Metkayina way from Ronal; a woman that Neytiri dislikes.
She hates the feeling of seeing him so happy with her. Hates his freedom. The back of her ears begin to burn. Her fingers start to twitch. Her chest starts to hurt more than her bow arm. And she feels such fury. It's worse than before and more intense by the day - unwavering and inexplicable.
Until one morning; Spider skips breakfast rushing to Ronal's side... and he takes her heart with him
