IMPORTANT NOTICE: So I am currently re-writing some things, mostly background plot and characters that seemed on the weaker side, so re-reading is advised. Until now only chapters 1-8 are updated. So sorry for the mess, hope it is worth it!
She is tired of always being an afterthought. Of being invisible. Tired of no one listening to her. She had seen it, in the old king's strange stone. The great wave that would engulf everything. But no one seemed to care.
She had to make them care. To find a way to lead her family to safety, even if they didn't believe her.
And she might have just found the strangest of allies. -

Summary
The following is a transcription of a lecture by R. H. Pumpernickel, professor of Adunaic Studies at Manwe and Varda College, Narowthrode University, in an Intro to Numenor class.
Pumpernickel is the author of *Pelargir in the Second Age,* and *The Flowering of Adunie.* He is currently working on a translation of the Numenorean liturgies for the Three Times.
(This is an attempt at an EmperorNorton150-style in-universe historiography of Middle-Earth through the lens of Numenorean History. I had a lot of fun with this, though I was too lazy to bother much with diacritical marks or standard punctuation.)

Summary
Centuries after the departure of the Elves, the slumber of the Dwarves and Ents, and the fading of magic, Men rule Middle-earth, their empires built on technology and industry, their civilizations advanced as they developed their own philosophies, laws, and politics. While the truths of the ancient ages have been long forgotten, the Valar, ever-watchful from Aman prepare themselves, executing efforts unknown to the people who now "rule" over Arda, seemingly unchallenged, for the shadow of Morgoth stirs beyond the Void and when he regains his full power, the End begins.
The prophesied Dagor Dagorath will come—the Last Battle that will devastate Arda so it may be made anew by the Second Music of the Ainur. Centuries have passed, but the peace that has settled will soon end as the forces of light and darkness will clash for the fate of Arda. Thus shall Men, and the other Children of Ilúvatar, along with the Ainur, face their greatest challenge tested, for their choices will decide whether Arda is remade in harmony or lost to ruin. The stage is set for the greatest unity ever to clash against the full might of the Dark Powers, all while the final doom awaits...

An avalanche had been set into motion. There was nothing that could stop it now. It would rush over her and drown her and there was nothing Míriel could do anymore but let it all play out.
Her defiance reared like a wild horse at that thought, however, not wanting to succumb to the inevitable. There must be something she could do. For herself and for her people.
She needed to check which alliances she still held.Míriel never, never wanted to be surprised like that again. And she never wanted to have her private space invaded unbidden again, not by Pharazôn, nor by anyone else. Rational thinking took over and banished the whirling fear in her stomach.
There was one person who could help her.

Gifted with prophetic dreams, Melisane has long been haunted by visions of dragons—creatures of wind and flame. But after the Elves' flight to Middle-earth, the loss of Finrod, and Galadriel’s relentless hunt for Sauron, she is left to battle grief alone. A formidable warrior, she withdraws, her dreams pulling her toward an unknown fate.
Then, she finds an abandoned dragon egg—just as she foresaw. Believing it a sign, she raises the creature in secret. When Elrond, an old friend, discovers the truth, he reluctantly aids her, expecting she will let it go. Yet, their shared bond over the dragon rekindles something deeper.
As darkness rises once more, Melisane and Elrond must face the fates their hearts and dreams reveal. Will their connection endure, or will the growing storm consume the starlight between them?
