Summary
Technically, Aglionby Academy hadn’t been a boys’ school since the 90s. As a way to get access to more funding–grants for co-educational institutions and the pockets of alumni who’d been unlucky enough to have only daughters–it had opened its doors to a number of young women since 1993. The youngest Gansey child would be one of five Raven Girls, alongside three other heiresses and one local scholarship student.

Summary
Ronan is insatiable, which isn't to say Adam isn't the same, but it's different for him. He wants Ronan all over him until his hands are there, then he doesn't want to be touched because he's reminded of how different they are. Adam wants to be able to want sex without all the complicated feelings attached, but they won't just go away.
Adam pushes Ronan onto the bed and goes for his neck, ravenous with the need to touch, lick, bite. Ronan moans at the teeth marks Adam leaves on his shoulder.
He tries to reach up to squeeze Adam's hips, but Adam pins his hands by his sides. He tries to sit up to meet Adam in the middle and kiss down his neck, but Adam rears back. "Don't wanna be touched today?" Ronan asks, not necessarily gently, but without any sort of judgement.

Summary
He knows Adam hates it. It’s another thing that could be thrown in his face by Aglionby boys, if they were to know, it was another thing that he hid from his parents until it all went nuclear. The dust of the aftermath has settled but there's still radiation buried deep in Adam's bones, a shame and ferocious need to pass that will not go away. Gansey's not unfamiliar with it, but he knows it's different for him and Adam.
Gansey looks at the reflection of Adam's face in the mirror and is reminded that injured animals lash out when they're cornered. He spins around, facing Adam now, his lower back pressed against the edge of the basin. “Adam, let me-”
Adam grabs his wrist, gentler than he did when they fought in the hallway. He shuffles an inch closer, crowding Gansey against the sink. It's too hot suddenly, summer billowing through the door to envelope them in warmth. Gansey's once-dead heart beats faster and Adam's thumb brushes against his pulse.
They haven't geared up enough for another fight. This is something else.

“Just stop it, Ronan!” Adam shouts, spinning around. Ronan stops, chest heaving, and his eyes flicker downwards. They look down, too, and see that both their legs are tangled in roots and flowered vines. Whether that was Cabeswater or Adam or both, they don’t know.

Past present future in one. Cyclical occurrence. All that has happened has happened and all that will happen has happened, too. Reality is knit using needles laced with skeins of Gansey’s conditioned-leather voice saying Oh For The Love Of God Not Like This.
They are funny together, Gansey-Ronan-Adam. Like three ears, three slices of bread for a sandwich, three socks in a set. Not inherently unusable, but somehow redundant, somehow fucked up. Unsettling. In the right context, a superpower. In the wrong context, a mutation, or a water-swollen blue-lipped piss-smelling body labeled DOA.

Too warm for sweatpants, Adam gathered his study materials and then padded quietly down the carpeted stairs to the kitchen, where he could hear Ronan pottering around, getting ready to make dinner. His boyfriend brightened considerably when he saw him, and crossed the room to press a kiss to his forehead.
“You really love that hoodie, don’t you?”
Adam nodded into his chest, and then pulled back to put his laptop and notebooks down on the desk. “Not as much as I love the guy who wears it all the time.”
