Summary
Zanka left his family behind for some cleaners whom he had been taught his whole life to resent, he struggles to let go of his years in hell guard training working to adapt to his new life and to the new people who truly care about him.

Summary
Without Regto, there was no one to keep Rudo out of trouble. At age nine, he's sent to the Pit for stealing and trespassing. Instead of falling into no man's land, Rudo is found by the Hell Guard near the Kamuatari District. Zanka was born with a bone missing in his right leg, disabling him for life. All he wants to do is prove to people that he's still worth something, even if he has a hard enough time believing it himself. He befriends a retired soldier who teaches him how to fight, but he knows it'll never be enough. Especially when he can't function without his staff to lean on. The last thing he expects is for the mysterious (and possibly feral) Spherite kid to imprint on him like a baby duckling, following him everywhere and drawing way too much attention to the both of them. Together they navigate challenges in a world that insists on underestimating them all while trying to figure out where they belong in it.

Summary
In the Puppet Festival Arc (manga)
Amidst the clamor of the puppet festival, Zanka succumbed to the joyful current and found himself, at least internally, immersed in the festival's dazzling atmosphere. The ambiance around them was exuberant and glamorous to his liking; after all, everyone there deserved a break, especially him.
So why did he now feel numbness in his body, an unwelcome warmth, a pain he didn't want to imagine, drifting into darkness as Goka spoke to him with disgust and gloom before lifting him into his enormous arms—arms he never imagined could hold him as a child, let alone now? As Goka ran with him through the dirt roads amidst the panicking crowd, he was largely unconscious, drifting slowly as the scent of oud his brother carried enveloped him. But he was conscious enough to realize that the oud had been replaced by a pungent chemical odor, a high-pitched, ringing laugh, and utter darkness.

Or: Zanka is being kidnapped, but kidnapping isn't the most appropriate word given the overall context.

Summary
Zanka has been suffering with a migraine disorder for a large majority of his life. It's manageable, but awful. It's just another thing that holds him back. Not to mention... he's becoming resistant to pain meds.
When his next migraine hits as he's too far away from HQ, the last person he wants to see turns up. But Jabber's new concoction for Mankira has effects he could have never predicted. It's... good?AKA: Jabber accidentally gives Zanka a migraine reliever instead of something nasty, and Zanka finds himself wanting more of it.

Summary
When a cleaning job goes south and Zanka still pushes on to fight (Jabber) after multiple warnings from Team Akuta not to, he ends up hurt and faces backlash for it from his other team members. (Mostly jst Riyo, I'm srry)
But what if that's not all? What if fighting Jabber meant more to Zanka? And what if fighting Zanka meant more to Jabber? It wasn't just Zanka trying to prove himself, maybe just maybe, there was something more going on between the two.
(Or in other words: Zanka gets hurt, yelled at by his teammates, visited by Jabber, and doesn't want him to leave. It's a Janka fic, what do you expect?)
