Summary

Summary
"Why don't we just jump on the telling part then?"
How hard it is to be the first born of an important figure is known by both Neteyam and Aonung: responsibilities, worries, stress. And to mess things up just a bit more, they also have siblings they have to look after. They both have resigned to the idea they have to suck it up and keep going as they have always done.
Then the sky people come back. And Neteyam and his family take the drastic decision to leave their land, their people, and seek refuge between the Matkayina. A cough.
Till's gaze snaps up at the sound, caught between disbelief and the cruelty of a maybe. He waits, dares not even to breathe, terrified that even a single sound would shatter the illusion.
Another cough, so soft that Till would not have believed he heard it if he had not also noticed Ivan's shoulder jerk. For a single moment, he stays frozen in place as if in a trance. Then, the fog lifts.
"Ivan?"
