Not her problem. Some other student could do it, not like she trusted her classmates enough to band together and save the earth. What makes it hard is that this alien turns out to be an amazing, attentive, and compassionate teacher that helps teach each student valuable life lessons and how to live up to their true potential. Including Kazumi, who wants nothing to do with assassination, friendship, and definitely not Karma Akabane.

What if he just asked?
