Summary
Agatha Harkness doesn’t do “slow,” and she doesn’t “rest,” either. Sounds about right for an attorney. Fresh off the heels of a divorce and custody battle, and a doctor's warning she can’t ignore, she and her young son Nicky find themselves renting a garden plot in Westview Community Garden located behind a church, dirt in her hair, and no idea what she’s doing.
Rio Vidal, fortunately, does.
Pediatric surgeon and garden coordinator extraordinaire, the two run into each other almost every evening as if on schedule. They start as strangers, but eventually bond over gardening together and other quirks. But all is not as it seems in Westview, Agatha’s mother is on the hunt for her, ready to sink her claws into her grandson and rip him away.

Rio is an exhausted ER Doctor, ready to fall into a deep sleep the second she walks through the door of her apartment. Naturally, her sister calls her just that second and asks Rio to pick up her niece from school. Rio, being ever the good aunt, agrees. Unfortunately, while her niece is playing on the playground at school, she falls off the monkey bars and skins her knee, which is how Rio meets School Nurse Agatha Harkness.
After a small misunderstanding, which involves Rio confusedly giving Agatha her phone number, Rio makes a stunning realization -- well, actually, she's kind of led into said realization by her family, who is apparently far more knowledgeable about flirting than Rio is.

Soon, they are complaining loudly down the phone at a local conservation biologist, who agrees to stop by and help them out. Agatha was not expecting said conservation biologist to be hot.
Nuisance butch rancher Agatha and long-suffering bird-nerd Rio falling in love with the help of a (very literal) wing-man. Or: an excuse to write an Agathario fic featuring my favourite birds.
