“If the king is so concerned about Merlin,” he asks, looking at Leon, “Why does he always take him along on quests and patrols? It’s not necessary to bring a servant, and he’s clearly worried—”
Leon smiles. “We’ve often asked the same thing,” he says, and shrugs. “But I don’t think Merlin would allow himself to be left behind, so any argument is moot.”
“He could order him,” Mordred says.
“Merlin would just follow,” Leon says. “It’s easier to include him from the start. Sometimes, I think those two just need to be close to each other. Hard enough to keep them apart anyway, even at the beginning, when they were just constantly sniping at each other.”
When Mordred looks back, Arthur’s arm is around Merlin’s shoulder, and he is smiling broadly. Merlin’s eyes are bright and focused on Arthur, and his lips are tugged upwards, as if he can’t quite stop himself.
Merlin loves Arthur to the point of fear, Mordred realises.

Summary
An unknown spider-mutate helps a murder-convict escape from prison. The Avengers assemble. All with terribly inconvenient timing to recently dumped Tony Stark, who would much rather sit around in his bathrobe and feel sorry for himself. Instead, he needs to pull himself together enough to catch both the escaped convict and the Spider-Man, and figure out the truth behind the accusations.
Before he knows it, he is far, far more involved in this case than he ever expected to be.The convict’s name: May Parker.

If he was being honest with himself, he was slightly terrified of the skinny boy standing in front of him, who looked as relaxed as he could possibly be, so naturally, Tony stuck out his hand for the boy to shake, ignoring the slight twitch from him at the sudden movement. “Tony Stark.”
“I know,” the boy said. His voice was quiet, calm, but he sounded like he’d seen a lot more than someone of his age ever should, and his eyes, brown and soulful, carried the same message.
“This is usually when you tell me your name, kid,” Tony prompted.
“Oh, right,” the boy said hurriedly. “It’s Peter. I’m Peter.”
