Summary
Exiled from the Shirai Ryu and left fatherless by betrayal, Hanzo is forced to submit to his mother's plan for vengeance. This plan includes an alliance with the rival Lin Kuei clan and her marriage of convenience to its leader. Hanzo expects nothing from his new home and family but treachery, and he intends to avoid any closeness, guided solely by his duty to revenge and cold calculation. However, the Grandmaster's younger son—Kuai Liang—begins to shake his long-held beliefs. The frost in the cryomancer's eyes burns his heart, threatening to unravel all his plans for revenge.

He felt a grief for his former self, for that life—unexpectedly sharp, powerful, and profound. At times, he thought he had invented that life for himself, that he had always been the Keeper of the Hourglass, an unliving homunculus created to serve its will, to maintain balance, merely endowed with false memories and a longing for something that had never belonged to him. Hanzo remained silent. He couldn't say "yes". He couldn't say "no".
"Do you regret everything? Do you want me to leave?"
"No—" A sharp voice, an order in tone, but a plea in truth.
"Do you still love me?" A question brimming with desperate hope. So hard to conceal.
Yes. Yes, I do.
He can no longer say it aloud. It's too great a luxury. Even though he wants to. The gods know how desperately he wants to. In some way, he envies his past self—the one who knew nothing, the one who still hoped.

"I could never hate Hanzo. Or raise a hand against him," Kuai Liang stands firm in his conviction. For him, this is an unshakable truth. "Even if our paths were to diverge."
The very thought causes him deep pain. He once believed he would never abandon Bi-Han. But... this is entirely different. Even with a broken heart, he still couldn't kill his brother-enemy. He certainly couldn't kill Hanzo. He knows this.
"I did not expect you to be close in this life, either," the god admits. "But just as in the past, you are once again the closest to each other, bound by an unspoken vow of loyalty. Once again, you fell in love. Once again, you save each other. It is... fascinating."
"But you said we were mortal enemies?" the pyromancer asks, confused.
"And who said you remained only that?" Liu Kang smiles. And with that, he leaves, planting even more unresolved questions in the soul of the Shirai Ryu Grandmaster.

"Is this... me?" Hanzo's voice sounded strange—tight and clipped.
Kuai Liang went completely still. Panic crashed over him in an instant.
Had he really forgotten to move the portrait to the separate folder?
How could he have made such a mistake?
He could only stare at Hanzo in alarm, desperately trying to remember if he'd written anything compromising.
Hanzo sat down beside him, eagerly studying his portrait. Kuai Liang caught glimpses of it—Hanzo smiling softly, tenderly, his features bathed in sunlight. Then his gaze darted to the inscription at the bottom. He never wrote captions for his sketches. But Hanzo had always been the exception.
"In the city of rains, it's always sunny," Hanzo read aloud, his voice hushed and rough with wonder. "In the city of rains..."
Kuai Liang didn't know what to do. Should he joke it away—claim it was just practice? Say it had been an accident? If only Hanzo didn't discover the stacks of other portraits... the unspoken confessions...
"Why is it always sunny in the city of rains, Kuai Liang?" Hanzo turned toward him. He was looking straight at him, intently, his eyes reflecting light.

Summary
Hanzo pensó que lo había perdido para siempre. Durante dos años, Kuai-Liang estuvo desaparecido, y con él, se fue una parte de su alma. Pero un día, contra todo pronóstico, Kuai-Liang regresó… aunque ya no era el mismo.
Dentro de él habita una criatura sedienta de venganza por una muerte injusta, que corrompe su cuerpo, lo deforma y lo debilita, borrando todo rastro del hombre que alguna vez fue.
Hanzo, movido por el amor que aún arde en su pecho, se aferra a la esperanza. Junto a sus aliados, lucha por una salida, mientras los reinos deciden que, para salvarse a sí mismos, el criomante debe morir.
Hacer que Kuai-Liang recuerde quién es realmente es la opción más pacífica, pero el tiempo se agota. Los demás reinos claman por su sangre, y en las sombras, una extraña alianza comienza a tramar otra solución.
