Summary
Some members of the royal family of the Fire Nation have a unique trait: they have predestined partners.

The Crown Prince’s partner is known as the Dragon’s Mate.Prince Zuko has always awaited the arrival of his, but as he nears twenty and realizes that, unlike many of his ancestors, he hasn’t found his, he thinks he never will—until he does, but in the person his father had sent him to capture.
Katara is the daughter of Chief Hakoda, princess of the South Pole—or what remains of it—and as the last hope for forging an alliance against the Fire Nation while the Avatar learns to master the four elements, she agrees to a union with the fallen King Kuei of the Earth Kingdom. But on the journey to her wedding, the Fire Nation intercepts her, and she falls into the hands of the Fire Lord’s sons. Yet something very strange happens to Prince Zuko when he sees her for the first time.

Summary
Ever since she was a little girl, everyone had told Katara that she was beautiful, but she never thought much about it until she became a slave and realized that it was a curse.
Katara is the slave of Zhao, a cruel man who one day offers her and her brother freedom if she helps him by seducing the Fire Lord, but things don't seem to go as planned.This story came to me years ago, and I've finally been able to shape it and be brave enough to post it. Sorry in advance if there are any mistakes, English is not my first language.

As Zuko grows, he learns what it means to love a waterbending girl that is irretrievably tied to another.
As Katara grows, she learns what it means to stay true to your roots and to be loyal to those you meet along the way.
As Lu Ten grows, he struggles with protecting his legacy and his ascension to the throne.

Zuko puts his meditation practice to good use.After seeing how ferocious she is in combat, and seeing the extent of her bending abilities, he feared her almost as much as he was captivated by her.
For her to have the strength and courage to continue to fight and move forward, despite all her anguish, Katara very much embodied the bravery of her mother. And even after being furious with him, she didn’t hold anything back. When she felt something she felt it with her whole being.

In a nation built on blood and lies, she must decide: how far is she willing to go to protect those who cannot protect themselves…and what will it cost her?
This is the first act of a five-act story. Act I is complete and comes to, what I consider to be, a narratively satisfying conclusion. I will be posting the remaining chapters of Act I every day during Zutara Month 2025.

Summary
Katara knows three things as absolute truths: she hates the night shift at the hospital, her brother Sokka will never stop interfering in her life, and the jasmine tea from the corner coffee shop is the only thing capable of making the world feel bearable after twelve hours in the emergency room.
At least that was the case until the new barista showed up.
Zuko is guarded, intense, and unsuited to customer service. Despite his intimidating presence, he is strangely clumsy behind the counter, constantly mishandling equipment, and looking personally offended whenever modern technology refuses to cooperate with him. Katara should find him irritating. Instead, every time his golden eyes meet hers, it leaves her with the unsettling impression that she has been missing him for far longer than they have known each other.(Or: Katara is forced to question the emptiness beneath her carefully constructed routine, and whether the stranger determined to reach her is disrupting her reality or trying to save her from it.)
