“Oh, Buck,” Eddie sighs breathlessly. “I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.”
Buck breaks his hands free from Eddie’s grasp. He wipes at his cheeks harshly, eyes stinging. “It’s my fault.”
Eddie’s face twists up. “No, don’t say that.”
“It is! I got the rental car, I got us lost, I made us stop, I caused a scene. It’s my fault, it’s all my fault.”

“What, you want me to just go over there and like, yell at him until I get him back?” Buck asked, huffing out a weak laugh at the idea in spite of the way his heart ached at the memory of when they had been happy together.
“Worth a shot, isn’t it?” Eddie gestured with his beer bottle again, and Buck realized he was serious. “I mean who does this guy think he is just breaking up with you out of nowhere like that?
