Summary
The Intern sees a stranger on the sidewalk, slowly walking towards her. They look normal. Their eyes are clear, their smile not overly stretched, they aren't violently twitching… nonetheless she jogs to the other side of the street, just in case. They exchange wary glances once she's far enough away, still suspicious of one another- everyone is suspicious of each other nowadays. You can never be too careful.
The Intern is just trying to get through her shifts while The Secret Agent is trying to find out what the hell is going on

Summary
As Intern is learning the ropes of working the hospital, encountering many patients with varying personalities and issues, they also come face-to-face with Barney, a well-known serial killer on the loose. Intern is well aware of this, but he treats Barney no differently, knowing how it feels to be seen differently as a "passive" anomaly.
This slow burn will take place over multiple chapters. For those who would like to read but skip 18+ scenes, there will be warnings at the start of each chapters in the notes! -

Summary
Intern gets a new job at the Animal Hospital for night shifts. Everything seems wonderful: a new job, nice co-workers, and an intimidating boss, but he seems nice. Maybe they are a bit sleep deprived cause they keep seeing things. Oh, and maybe weird things keep happening, but they can shrug it off. Everything is totally normal.
What's the worst that can happen? A serial killer, experiments, secret cannibalism, monsters or ghosts? They just need to chug more coffee and maybe buy an espresso machine. And maybe they can keep ignoring all the massive red flags.
