Stratt takes a shaky breath. Her eyes are apologetic. Why are they apologetic? He can feel his stomach start rejecting the peanut butter jelly sandwich.
"The donator is Lionel Gerdinger. I'm sure you've heard of him."
Grace frowns. "Y-yes. Of course I have. He thinks the Astrophage are a hoax and we're just fear mongering to make money off of peoples' panic. Why would he give us that much money?"
"I just told you."
"Okay? So, he wants me to, like...work for him? As what? Does he need a middle school teacher to dumb down important big-boy mails for him?" He laughs nervously at his own joke. Stratt doesn't laugh with him. "Or like, a scientist to explain to him why it's unsafe to eat greens in the form of one dollar notes?"
She exhales through her nose, and it sounds just as shaky as her inhale. When she talks, her voice wavers. "He wants sexual favors, Grace."

Summary
Simon narrowly drags himself out of the blood ocean, onto a white space ship floating on the surface. It makes no sense. How is this thing here? Where are all the people? How is he even alive?
How are there stars in the sky?
He barely understands anything in this ship, but he can faintly make out that it was made for a very important project, a mission that is life-or-death.
And for a man that just narrowly escaped another life-or-death mission, he was not a fan of the premonition that he's going to have to take up this project himself.
Until he heard muffled crying from a hidden corner of the ship.
It's... a child.

Or, Simon has to complete the Project Hail Mary mission after he finds the ship with only a glasses-wearing blond child inside. Why a child is alone here is a big question. The weird not-glass panes sectioning off half of the ship is another big question. The stress builds up to the point he almost doesn't notice something else sneaking around inside with them. Simon is definitely not qualified for this shit.

It was just a routine sampling of Erid’s Petrova line. It should’ve been in and out, maybe a month and a half tops to get it done. Considering the last two went so well, it really shouldn’t have been a big deal at all. That probably should’ve been the first indication that everything was about to go wrong.
