“The one room will suit us perfectly,” Colin says with as much confidence as he can muster. He steps closer to Penelope, smiling at her as he holds a hand out for her to take, imploring her to play along with his eyes. “Don’t you agree, darling?”
For her part, Penelope looks a little stunned by the term of endearment, but she doesn’t miss a beat as she slips her hand into his.
“Yes. I believe it will, husband,” she replies.
