Summary
Perhaps observing him sitting on the deck, clutching at his skull, is enough to reassure the little boy that Brook is no threat. He cautiously clambers aboard, sword clutched in one hand, and leans forward to give Brook’s nearest foot a poke with the tip of his blade. The sheer absurdity of it should be enough to make anyone laugh, but the skeleton manages to restrain himself. “You- are you dead?”
“In a sense, yes! But also technically, no! Yohohoho!” Well, at least he restrained himself momentarily. With no hat to doff, Brook settles for sweeping his arms about and bowing from his seated position. “Humming Brook, last remaining member of the Rumbar Pirates, at your service!”
The boy’s eyes grow very wide. He stares at Brook for a long moment, before glancing about the rather tattered ship, and seems to come to something of a decision. “If you’re a pirate, I should arrest you.” Ah. That does not sound promising. “But... If I rescue you instead, that means you owe me a debt?”
Judging by his immediate grimace, the child didn’t mean for that to come out as a question.

Summary
At the very least, Shanks still being unconscious means his Voice is quiet, hardly more than a faint whisper to catch anyone’s attention. It means he isn’t trying to help, nevermind the fact he can hardly put one foot in front of the other right now, let alone move with the speed and precision it will take to successfully slip out of the Holy Land. Shamrock has been in training to become a Knight of God, to become Father’s right hand, practically all twelve years his life - a handful of paltry swordsmanship and haki lessons from uncouth pirates can hardly measure up to that, no matter what inane statements Shanks will insist upon saying out loud at the least opportune times.

Summary
When he is ten years old, Rocinante runs away from Marineford.
It’s not what he wants to do. Might be the thing he least wants in all the world, but- but it’s the right thing, the just thing, the only way he can possibly adequately thank Sengoku for saving him.
Even so, Roci silently cries the whole time.

Summary
“Excellent job out there tonight,” Nami starts talking as she walks backwards with perfect confidence, attention seemingly glued to her phone as she swipes through different pages. “Even though you were four minutes late, the rest of the show went off without a hitch, and our numbers are climbing through the roof-”
“Those bonus special effects with your entrance, though, those were amazing,” one of the tech crew gushes, hustling along with the crowded cluster of people. “I did not know we had wires set up for an aerial stunt, and that demon hologram! Who blew up into confetti-!”
“Right!” Someone else yelps, and then there’s a dark-skinned young man wiggling his way into the middle of things, grinning a little too wide and juggling half a dozen items in his arms. “Super special effects! Just another couple of tricks up the Great Usopp’s sleeve!”
“You don’t wear sleeves,” all three ASL brothers promptly state, which makes their friend scowl and Luffy break out into peals of laughter.
