The drink in his hand sloshed over his fingers and Varka laughed again as if it was a source of great amusement and not a display of clumsiness from overindulgence. He downed his glass before he slammed it down on the counter. Flins watched with avid eyes as he brought a hand up to his mouth and with a languid tongue, Varka licked the remnants of fire-water from his calloused fingers.
Yes, Flins thought with a smile of his own, one he hid in the high collar of his cape. One can certainly understand the appeal, Grandmaster.
or, varka has sharp teeth and too sweet a scent when it's not overpowered by guilt. flins has sharper teeth and a hunger to match.

Still, it’s amusing to hear someone comment on what an easy life he seems to have. Or how he can always look so calm for someone who is literally the head of the whole daycare’s operations. Or just how “impulsive” and “easygoing” his personality is.
(Because if they mean by “impulsive” is immediately thinking of every possible way to get out of certain situations, then yeah, sure. “Easygoing”, though? Okay, maybe that too. Only because he already kind of predicts and allows it to happen. Of course.)
They don’t know, and well, Wriothesley intends to keep it that way. The less people know what’s going on inside his head, the better. What’s the point of a plan if they know what your plan is, anyway?
He’s prepared. Years in the field practically shaped him to be exactly that. He’s pretty sure nothing will faze him anymore. Surely fate has reached its creativity limit too, yes?

“Naturally,” Wriothesley says, with a twinkle in his eye as he leans over Neuvillette. “I love you as I love the skies, as the sun dawns to kiss it bright.”
He kisses Neuvillette’s cheek, and Neuvillette feels heat rise to where Wriothesley’s lips touch. He knows he can’t keep the smile off of his face, and brings up a hand to hide behind it.
“I love you as the moon hides herself on shy nights, and the wind comes to help her with a curtain of clouds. I love you, so dearly, that it’s the breath I breathe and the water I drink.”
For centuries, the demon gate of Leviathan had destabilized Fontaine, swallowing all its land and lakes while spawning demons and misasmic mists that destroy everything in its wake. Countless expeditions have been sent to destroy the gate, but none have succeeded. A year ago, the rate that the gate devours Fontaine accelerated. A final expedition is sent—but the party is not ready to discover the truth about the gate.

Aglaea sighs. “You seem to be under the impression that I’m losing out on something by not performing it myself,” she says, quiet. “But why else would I ask you to perform with Phainon, who you’ve never partnered with before? The only two students of the Goldweaver—wouldn’t that be quite the show?”
Cipher shrugs. “Well, it can’t happen now, so your only choice is to one-up that show and get on the ice yourself.”
“You’re being too hasty,” Aglaea says. “Besides, Anaxagoras won’t agree to this.”
“And what makes you so sure of that?”
Aglaea doesn’t startle, but it’s a near thing.
“Coach…?” Phainon asks uncertainly.
“You really haven’t changed one bit,” Anaxa says. “I’ll do it.”
Six years after their sudden and mysterious fallout, ex-ice dance partners Aglaea and Anaxa are given the chance to take to the ice together again.
