The villain looked with such concern and courtesy, as some time ago in the city. Tommy put on a smile at the praise and deciphered his task.
Distract everyone while Philza does his business like robberies and undermining the heroic system.
"Uh, well, that sounds cool," the boy shrugged. "And what will I get for it?"
"Home. Money that you have the right to dispose of as you please. Delicious food every day. A rich, luxurious life. Agree?"
Tommy bit his lip and looked down. Risky. Very, very risky.
Tommy is pleased that after his death he got into a novel he read once. In the end, he is a background character at most, and the whole drama of the plot certainly does not concern him.
But one day Philza Craft, the main antagonist of the story, comes and declares him his son.

"The kid from the closet stole my face."
Philza looks up from the phone and looks at his son. Wilbur stands bathed in the morning sun through the window of the cramped kitchen, in pajamas, with shaggy hair, with a completely calm face and looks with his big, viscous brown eyes. His feet are bare. The smell of toast is in the air. The coolness drags from the open window. Coffee is steaming in a mug.
"The boy with the red eyes?" Phil politely clarifies, trying to look casually inquisitive.
"With bloody ones," Wilbur clarifies, as if this is a very important detail.
Phil sighs. This was not how he had dreamed of spending this morning.
Or: Techno is a little horror creature who settles in Phil and Wilbur's apartment, family machinations occur

"No, wait, we need to talk!" Wilbur awkwardly fanning the stage in front of him with his hand, "You're some kind of... Demons or something like that is definitely a fact that needs clarification!"
"U-u-u-uh," Techno is considering whether to continue the denial strategy further. "Nope. No demons in this room."
"Yes!" Tommy nods often, "We are the most human of all human beings, Prince Wilbah!""
Oh, come on, do they think he's a idiot?!
Or: Wilbur is a prince who wants to prove to his father that the children they sheltered in the palace are literally demons. But even more, he wants to see these demons as his legitimate brothers.

Again, not a question. “You can.” When Mobei-jun makes an absolutely terrifying face, Shang Qinghua hastens to add, “But not instantly! Y-you can actually recover from it, if the hypothermia doesn’t progress too far.”
“How far?” Mobei-jun growls.
“There are f-f-f-five stages,” Shang Qinghua shivers out, lips numb. “The fifth stage is death.”

Shang Qinghua and Mobei-jun have their spiritual powers sealed before getting dumped in a white-out snowstorm. Mobei-jun quickly learns that humans are far more susceptible to the cold than he thought.

Rocky’s vents rattle like a sigh. “I know.”
“So what is it that you’re so upset to leave behind?”
There’s another long, silent moment, stretching until I start to worry that I’ve finally done it: found the first-ever cultural or personal barrier between us that we can’t cross together. I’m long past the point of being able to pretend that Rocky doesn’t mean the world to me – more than the world, actually, literally. I don’t need to have all my memories back to know that the moment we were reunited after I turned back for him was the happiest I’ve ever been. So I just can’t stand the thought that he’s hurting in some part of himself I can’t reach.
Then Rocky says, “Am upset to leave bodies of crew,” and my heart stops.
