Fear continued to flay away at her mind, her heart, and Chirithy willed herself to breathe through it. Breathe through it like Batman had taught her.
"Don't be afraid of the dark. Embrace it."
Almost choking on her own saliva to swallow down some of the fear, Chirithy nodded resolutely. She could run up that breathlessly long hill, climb the endlessly long ladder. Mind over matter. She just...had to forget that there was a monster looming behind her in every scenario her brain cooked up.

Summary
"I see you've made quite the change to your uniform," she commented idly, jerking her head toward the red bat that now painted his armor in blood red.
A red so deep, Chirithy wondered if it went further below, branding his skin like a tattoo. Not too different from the black and blue ones that constantly littered his ribs. Hers, too.
"Decided to ring in the new year with a bang," he answered with a shrug, trying to remain nonchalant and uncaring, but Chirithy could see the tightness of his shoulders as they threatened to hunch in and swallow him whole.
Well, lucky for him that Chirithy wasn't normally one to give in to antagonistic fits in an attempt to pitifully enrage the people around her if she felt even the least bit defensive. Like Jason himself often tended to do. Otherwise, this conversation would have just taken one hell of a wrong turn.
Though he didn't seem ready to throw down tonight either, which was definitely a plus. "I would have thought you'd do that with one of your infamous explosions."

Summary
It's cold. Stark crimson paints the snow beneath Batman and Robin's shoes. And the girl in front of them is covered in it. Numbly staring at the two dead bodies in front of her.
He was too late. Batman had been too late...again.
Bruce Wayne feels something inside of him at the sight of this girl. He's unwilling to leave the girl unprotected and so what else can he do but take her in?
Her name is Chirithy Colette. Make that Chirithy Colette Wayne. And from there, things get complicated. Ranging from Bruce finally learning how to properly feel and express human emotions all the way to...everything else.
Honestly, where to begin?
Things like Chirithy figuring out the identities of Batman and Robin, wanting to become her own superhero and not taking no for an answer, trying to talk the Lazarus out of Jason, becoming besties with Tim, accepting a half demon child as her brother, dealing with the consequences of altered DNA, being traumatized and then dealing with the aftermath of said trauma repeatedly...
Just not necessarily all in that order.
