“But this?” he reiterates, looking down at her phone, “This has to end here. I don’t want you to contact him again.”

Samira Mohan's analysis of Jack Abbot's behaviour and how it better reflects a Penguin than a Jack Rabbit (co-authored by Emery Walsh)
Samira had once read as a child that penguins brought their mates stones as a court gift. They would pick out the best one, through whatever judgement they deemed best, and would present it carefully to potential mates. Her Appa had read to her that story, a kids tale that had been romanticised and filled with fluffy illustrations of various penguin species. She hadn’t enjoyed the parts where some penguins were rejected; she had hated seeing their efforts go to waste. But she had enjoyed the main penguin (bizarrely named Charles) who had continued to bring his mate stones just to make them smile even after they got together.
Frankly, Samira should have seen the connection much sooner considering it was her favourite book.
She didn’t even feel guilty for comparing Abbot’s consistent drop offs of medical papers to penguins flirting through rocks. It was a weirdly cute tradition that matched his rusty flirting skills. (Never mind the fact that it was working).

Abbot is a gift giver and a atrocious flirter, luckily Emery is there to push things alongSeries
