Dabi stumbles past him, bumping into the wall and turning to him with a strange expression on his face. The door shudders in its frame as it closes behind him. Hawks takes a deep breath- the first one he’s had all day, it feels like- because Dabi is in front of him, unhurt, and there is a clear barrier between the two of them and the others.
Or: Hawks gets hit by a bullet that enhances the neatly buried parts of his animalistic quirk. Dabi is the recipient of his, uh, desire.

She swears she can hear Dabi quietly gasp, though she doesn’t get time to reflect on it before he softly says, “Yeah? ...The same goes for you.”
Rei closes her eyes. Again, with this feeling.
He’s so much like...
“You kind of remind me of my son,” it slips out before she can even think about it.
(In which Rei is kidnapped and held hostage, but it isn't Endeavor who saves her.)

The past was like a boomerang; eventually, it caught up with every one of them. But the future was the unknown, which they dived into headlong. Yet still, it has formed on all that had already been.
Aquamarine and Ashes depict the story of said past. The story of innocence lost on the burning sea. And the story of people unseen by history.
The sea does not forget.
And neither do children raised on its waves.
Because for some stories to begin, one first needs to survive long enough.

This story began in a nice little countryside GP surgery, where Dr Bilbo Baggins ran his clinics as quickly and as pleasantly as he could, and thanked all that was holy that GPs didn’t have to do out of hours calls anymore. And then the mysterious Gandalf arrived during one of his pub lunches and nothing was quite the same again.
